Well it was when I got up at 6.30am (my relief carer comes at seven) but once the traffic started along the road, although there was not much about, it soon turned to mush. And now - in the evening - there is still some snow lying, it has also turned warmer and I am sure it will all be gone by morning.
I have had a quiet day today - a couple of phone calls, a few e mails, H next door came round for a cup of tea and that's it. My carer insisted on bringing me a nice home cooked gammon and salad lunch and friends S and T had brought me some small Christmas puds and a tub of brandy sauce, so again I have eaten too much.
The highlight of my day has been watching the first two episodes of Jules Verne's 'Around the World in Eighty Days', I rarely enjoy a serial on television but just occasionally the BBC do a really good one and this one really fits the bill. The first two episodes were aired today, one after the other and I found it gripping. I haven't read the book and I suspect I would find it a bit slow,but the BBC have really livened it up - I shall be interested to read what the critics have to say about it tomorrow.
I shall nowgo and make myself a cup of tea and read a bit more of the William Trevor book my son bought me for Christmas. See you tomorrow.

It's lovely to watch episodes of programs in the days after Christmas. My favourites are old episodes of Black Adder. What a fine cast with Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry and the late RiK Mayall - nobody does comedy quite like the Brits.

That was nice you had some visitors today to liven things up. I must look for that series on Amazon Prime video (which I get) or from my library. They have quite a few good series from the UK. Currently I am watching "Wire in the Blood" based on the books by Val McDermid.

I remember it with David Niven and not really understanding it and I believe even being taken to the pictures to see it. My only recollection is that I didn't like David Niven.
With that title I thought you were talking about a pizza delivery, Weave.

I have read the book (a long time ago) and I found the new series to be a tad far-fetched. I also found it a bit slow, and bogged-down in trivia. I'm afraid I went off to do other things as the second part started. No snow here, just a slight short drizzle in the morning.
No snow here, either, at 8C. We did manage a good walk around the village yesterday before rain started again in the afternoon. Now I am almost on my way back home where I shall have my third jab at 2:45 pm and of course visit my friend‘s cat after not having been there for one entire day.
No snow here, just the now daily rain, mist and murk. Seems weeks since the pavements, roads and gardens were last dry.
