A Perfect Day.

Today has been a perfect Summer's day - clear blue sky, no wind, warm sun.   The forecast for tomorrow is not good so make the most of today.  I decided that instead of walking today Percy and I would tidy up the bed in the garden to give the fresh air a chance to circulate round the roots of the plants before Autumn arrives.    We had an hour out there  - several sits down, a lot of cutting back and (the one good thing about  I this time of the year) how much better it looks now that I have done it.

I had intended to have a walk after lunch but various things held me up and as my Soup maker was scheduled to come between three and four this afternoon I decided against it.   It is now almost seven in the evening and it still hasn't come but I have had an e mail telling me they do intend to deliver it today - so we shall see.   I am really looking forward to getting going wit h my Soup maker.   I have had a succession of Blenders which have made soup  - well I have made it in a saucepan and then transferred the mixture to the blender.   This machine makes it in its entirety so I will refer back when I have given it a go.   The advice I have had from those with a soup maker is to follow the recipes in the recipe book at first so that I get used to the correct quantities (it is easy when one is just making with left-overs to fling everything in the pan and hope for the best).  I don't care for soups with a meat base - my mother's favourite soup which I must say she made very well was made with the remains of a ham shank and dried peas.  I wonder - can you still buy a ham shank?   I haven't seen one for years - I eat very little meat so rarely go into a butcher's shop.

Still no soup maker - can't imagine it will come at this time of night.

So many people get deliveries these days that sometimes items get delayed beyond the expected time of delivery. If it does not arrive today hopefully you will see it tomorrow. A new appliance like that will give you something fun to experiment with in your soup making. I will look forward to hearing about it!

How nice that you had time out in the garden today. It's good to be out and enjoy the fresh air before the cool days do arrive. It sounds like you made some good progress with the garden too. Take care Pat!

Hope the soup maker arrives tomorrow. I am tempted to get one myself. How satisfying for you to be able to admire your handiwork on the garden. It does give a good feeling, doesn't it.

Yes you can still buy a ham shank. it's my favourite for making lentil soup in the slow cooker. Overnight on low, the bone slides out and it makes the best stock. A potato, a carrot and an onion then leave another 3 - 4 hours. We don't blend it.

I'm wondering what exactly is a "soup maker"? I can't wait to see a picture of it. Amazon delivers items much later now, than they used to. We've gotten deliveries as last as 9:30pm at night... but that's usually between Thanksgiving & Christmas time. They still come around 8:30pm now tho, in the summer. Love, Andrea xoxo

I've been enjoying the weather today, in preparation for it being horrible again tomorrow

I'm waiting for a postponed delivery, too. It will happen.
I'm not fond of meat based soups, either, but ham and pea still sound appealing.

All my recent deliveries (mostly Amazon) have arrived much earlier than predicted. I'm happy with that!

I order things for delivery so rarely that I really can't say what it is like over here these days, but I hope they don't keep you waiting much longer for your soup maker.
A perfect summer's day - and you used it well! I am trying to imagine Percy's part in the gardening. Was he giving you instructions?

It will come, I always feel sorry for these poor delivery drivers and never tell anyone off and give sparkling reviews when they ask. Soup making always reminds me of my first mother-in-law, soup was religiously made practically every day for supper. There she would stand over the stove stirring away smoking a cigarette. The ash would get longer and longer slowly curling down, and if someone else did not grab an ash tray it would end up in the soup!

If it is being delivered by Hermes, it will probably never arrive!

From personal experience here on Sheppey, the Hermes team that deliver our parcels are above excellent. They always deliver in the time frame that they have stated and continued to do so throughout the worst of the pandemic, when many people were scared to even step outside the house. They also endure long days in 30 degrees heat and being soaking wet in torrential rain.

Thanks everyone/ Soup maker scheduled to come this morning - hopefully in time for me to try tomato and red pepper soup for lunch - I have both in the fridge. Not sure about posting a photograph as I have not worked out photographs on my new laptop yet.

i am here to give testimony on how this powerful spell caster called Dr Adoda helped me to fix my relationship. i was heartbroken when my fiancee told me he is no longer interested in marrying me because he was having an affair with the other woman where he work. I cried and sobbed every day, until it got so bad that I reached out to the Internet for help, that was when i read a review about the great work of Dr Adoda, then i contacted him for help to get my lover back, he helped me cast a powerful (reconciliation love spell) and to my greatest surprise after 48 hours of doing the love spell my Fiancee came back on his knees begging me to forgive him We are now happily married and all thanks goes to Dr Adoda Wonders for helping me save my relationship you can contact Dr Adoda through his email address: adodalovespelltemple440@gmail.com or WHATSAPP him on +2348112825421.
