Five Weeks to Go.

All I can say really is that M & S at Teeside Park at half past nine on a Saturday morning is pretty much mayhem.   Admittedly it was a twenty percent off clothing day, which I am sure made a difference, but finding a spot in the car park would have been nigh on impossible without my 'Disabled' badge and the poor assistants were already looking haggard.   Only another seven or so hours to go.

Watching my half hour of Breakfast television this morning - on a Saturday it includes a quarter of an hour of 'Click' - I watched with amazement a Production line putting together smart phones in China.   Long lines of operatives, each one placing just one tiny component in the phone and then sending it on to the next bay so that in double quick time it arrives at the end of the line and is complete.   No wonder the operatives get a two hour lunch break; most of them, heads down, were asleep at their posts.

All this made me jolly glad to be long-retired.

Oh and by the way - bought two lovely sweaters.

My idea of hell is any crowded shop! Glad you were successful.

I'm not a fan of shopping - at least if it is not online. We order our groceries from the big supermarket and they then bring it out to your car at the appointed time. You even get to look at pictures of the food when ordering so you know you have the right items. Then yesterday I forgot three things that I really need for our Thanksgiving feast next week, so I ordered them from Amazon and they will be here today. Ordered a couple christmas gifts while I was at it.
Hope your weekend is not too chilly. Enjoy the days as they come.

One of the great joys of living on one's own is that you don't get dragged to shops at times such as you describe, a day such as you describe is a real nightmare.

I took Laura shopping for a coat. I stood on the edge and watched. She shot across the room and wrapped her arms around a lovely microfiber. We're both happy.

I am puzzled why you would shop on a Saturday morning when everyday is a Saturday.

They weren't asleep at their posts, it was an enforced ten minute eye break because of the intensity of their job.

I remember doing power naps when sitting at my desk at work and it was most refreshing!

As for shopping well today we visited a large town and Mrs H disappeared into a dress shop and like many other husbands I prefer not to interfere, unless invited to do so.
Instead I browsed around mobile phone shop next door just to pass the time and oh guess what I came out with a new phone and herself with a new outfit.

Rachel. We shopped today because M and S had twenty per cent off all clothes today!

There were so many bored looking men waiting outside the Ladies' changing rooms.

Nothing would induce me to go to Teeside Park even though I live about five miles away.Glad you had a successful shop.I also watched, endured,Click.I loved the way they stress tested the phones, dropping them from great heights and hitting them with hammers!

I am glad to know you had some reward for braving M&S on a Saturday morning.
I agree with you about being retired. Since all the turmoil of selling a house, buying a flat and moving into it, now that everything is just about as I would like it to be, I think I have relaxed completely and gone into a temporary state of mild exhaustion. Well, I hope it is temporary. There are plans for things I want to do when I can work up the energy to make a start.

I can do power naps standing up. The only trouble is that I wet myself.

I started falling asleep standing up when on night shifts, which is really strange

I can wet myself without doing power naps.

We went out shopping this week and the crowds reminded us of why we don't like going shopping.

The terrifying large towns of the North ;) will never, ever venture near one, and shop online, notice in the papers yesterday that M&s are advertising some Nordic jumpers for men which caught Paul's eye.

Thelma - apartfrom a couple of times when my grand daughter was at Uni in Newcastle I have never been to any of the Northern towns. There are two advantages to Teeside Park. One - my friend, who has a large four wheel drive, is the chauffeur and two - it has a very large M and S with a superb food department. We usually go Spring and Summer to stock up on clothes we want and around Christmas to stock up our freezers. Funnily enough, the journey from home - up the A1 and then along the A66 is through very nice scenery until about two miles away from the site so I can just sit back and enjoy.

Your new home looks so cozy and inviting, all the bits and pieces in place, and welcoming.
I hope you and Tess will share many happy times there, with the farmer's memories to keep you company.
Hugs,
