Final kitten post.

Thisis positively the last kitten post.   It has been a pouring wet day here today.   This morning six of us went to Tennants Auctioneers who have a lovely cafe and we had a breakfast.   Three of us had an American breakfast of streaky bacon, pancakes and maple syrup and blueberries.  I also had a pot of tea and afterwards two rounds of white toast and marmalade.   Sheer indulgence but needed after yesterday and I have had no more to eat today other than a bowl of strawberries and nectarines at tea time.

Now for the last update.   June from the Cats' Protection League rang me this morning to sat that the Vet had checked all seven kittens over.   They were in good health.   He wormed them all and they have now gone to be looked after by June until they are old enough to be spayed or castrated.  Then they will go to the League to be rehomed as they are quite tame and domesticated.

Ukulele practise tonight so I am now late to bed.  It is eleven o'clock and time for Tess's last mosey round the garden (in the still pouring rain).  So night night again everyone.

Glad they're all healthy, what a great breakfast. The only time we have a breakfast like that is when we go out to eat.

Great news Pat. So glad they found safety. I imagine an English breakfast to be, porridge, rashers of bacon and tomato slices. Maybe an English muffin with marmalade or a crumpet and a coddled egg (not sure what that is.) And tea! Here is a small factoid I read yesterday. In his final years, Nikola Testa ate only milk and honey. Thought it was the perfect food for health. If only he'd tossed back an egg too.

A good breakfast with friends is always a treat - and now the kitties are safe and sound. Enjoy the rest of your week.

Great news about the kittens. That American breakfast sounds spot on and I know for a fact it's delicious. :) And, so jealous of your rain. I swear if it rained here I'd go out and dance in it like a crazy woman! :)

Good to know all is well with the kittens. I hope the same is true for their mother - she must be missing them terribly, at least for a while. And hopefully, the people she lives with see sense and have her neutered - although I doubt it.
I have never had an American breakfast with pancakes and syrup, but it does Sound very filling!

Your breakfast sounds delicious and enjoyed with friends it must have tasted even better.
The other half thinks the kittens should be names after the Seven Dwarfs. X

Jules - brilliant idea, I shall pass it on.
Gwil - thanks for adding the icing to the cake.
Donna - a traditional English breakfast would probably be fried bacon, egg, sausage, tomato, black pudding and egg (usually fried.) There would perhaps be some fried mushrooms and/or potatoes too. This may be followed by toast and marmalade if there is any room left. You can get all these items in the cafe where we go but that is always too much for us.
Thanks everyone. Glad the whole saga is over.

Good news about the kittens - I hope they are all rehomed. Your breakfasts sound delicious and I hope the weather brings some cheer for tomorrow. It is wet and dismal here too.

Just catching up with all those kittie post. I wish we had cats protection here in Italy, no one bothers to get their pets sterilised, cats or dogs, there is no rescue organisation at all and the results are heart breaking. The two cats we have were sterilised last year, It wasn't cheap but we could have had ten more kittens this year and next year hundreds all inbred. You did a great job and I'm sure the little ones will find good homes.

Good news on the kittens, the breakfast sounds delicious. We had a similar version in Solva, crisp bacon, pot of honey and french bread, though I have always called it 'eggy bread'

I've been following your kitten saga. I'm happy to hear it turned out well in the end. I find it interesting that you refer to bacon as "streaky bacon". It's just bacon to us. Hope the rain passed over you quickly. -Jenn
