A Short Post.

John (Going Gently) has given me a 'kick up the knickers' to say I have to keep going.   Thank you John.   I absolutely must not give up.   One of my daily drugs became unavailable, another was tried and was not helping at all - at last an alternative seems as though it might be going to 'work' (only started on it yesterday) so hopefully I will be back.   In the meantime just a short quote from  today's Times which will make us all - whoever's side we are on (I am on neither or both whichever way you choose to look at it - believing I know nothing about the real situation so I am better not taking sides):

It is 55 years ago today when - in 1969- Yasser Arafat was appointed chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organisation.   What more can anyone say?  But we should all be aware of the fact and ponder on it.

55 years eh? Time has not flown in this case. Good luck with the drugs Weave. X

Hope your new medicine has you back to ticking along nicely! How awful when a helpful drug becomes unavailable.

55 years? I was a few months away from high school graduation and was about to head for nursing school.

Wishing you well! Hugs!

I’m relieved you’re well enough to post. What a shame that drug is unobtainable. I hope the substitute deals as good a job once it kicks in.

New Zealand’s drugs are bought by a central agency and sometimes they change because another firm is offering a cheaper generic option. Very occasionally that’s caused great problems with patients reacting badly to the substitution. I am given a monthly infusion of immunoglobulin and some months ago the product changed. It’s now being created here in NZ by our National Blood Bank, which should help secure supply in an international emergency I guess. However being put onto the replacement product involved (1) a phone call from the Blood Bank explaining the change and asking if I agreed. (2) the nurse at the hospital repeating the explanation and asking my agreement and (3) a long form explaining the changes and how they might affect me, which I then had to sign. All of which was a bit bizarre, as the old formulation isn’t available, so the choice was really treatment or … not!

Hoping your new drug gives you excellent results and you’re feeling comfortable. Sending positive thoughts your way. XX

Do hope the new medication helps you feel more comfortable. My fingers are crossed. It is such a shame the one you were used to, became unavailable.
I am always pleased to read your posts and look forward to them.

So frustrating when you have to find a replacement for something that worked well. I hope this new drug is a success. Hugs from Pat in Pennsylvania.

I am sorry to hear that you have been struggling with your medications and hope it gets sorted soon. I guess that even if I don't see a post from you, I see comments from you and no matter where you pop up. I get a glad feeling to see your name. My best thoughts, Pat.

Having the medication to remain comfortable is important and I am glad to hear you've got what you need and it is working. Arafat ceded his PLO post in 2003, and died in 2004. It has been suggested his death was the result of poisoning. Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, supports a 2-state solution, as does his nationalist Fatah party. But he is 88 years old and will soon start the 20th year of what should have been a 4-year term. Few Palestinians (or Israelis) think he has the ability to lead a push for peace. Israeli leadership needs to change as well and is widely supported by the people of Israeli. The events of the past few months show the status quo is untenable. Change is inevitable. The only question is what form will it take.

Your needing to find a replacement for medication that works for you is disappointing news,I hope and pray that soon you regularly have what helps you the most.
The situations involving Palestine, Israel, and their neighbouring areas, cultures and religions have been problematic for centuries. I believe when all is said and done goodness wins,
may you rest well and feel better soon,Mary

Hope you are feeling more comfortable now. The mess of the world depresses me. Killing people is never right.

I shall adopt' kick up the knickers' now as a favourite saying. So much better than kick up the backside or a**e. I also like 'don't get your knickers in a twist!'...Being on a strata title here, there's usually someone in that state! - Pam.x

Oh, my such a long time. 55 years ago I was just engaged and 6 months away from a wedding. Fortunately that has worked out much better than Israel and the PLO arrangement!

Think of all the American Presidents who thought they fostered the beginnings of peace talks.

I just had the same problem. It took them almost two months to find (different dose)of a med that I really need. Angry is not close to how I felt. Just got it and have a wait a week for it to kick in.
I hope you are doing better.

And what a crook he was. He stole about $1.3 Billion from his own people, which he sent to foreign bank accounts. His wife was just as bad. If you vote for these people that's what you should expect.

Do hope the new medicine works well Pat. Keep your pecker up;) though I am not sure what that is by the way.
As for the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. It is a terrible tragedy that has been going for such a long time, perhaps when the dust is settled a proper agreement will be arrived at.

I have been avoiding much of the news lately. Politics and wars are too depressing, and instead choose something that brings me some joy.
Hope you are feeling more yourself soon.

Parsnip - good to compare notes - after two daysI am feeling much better.
gz all the best for Pirate - we ;sickies; must fight together!!

Colorectal cancer is not a jolly subject for discussion. What suddenly became unavailable was Ispaghula Husk - this is ground up and drunk mixed with cold water. Horrible to drink but manages the body's system very well in my case. A new source has been found and is now available from a different source. I am feeling more comfortable already.

If I can think of anything to blog about I will be back later. xx all round you lovely people.

Like others, I see you commenting other places and know you are making an effort. No one expects you to be blogging when you are unwell.

I'm glad the new medication is kicking in now, and talking of kicking ... only John in his inimitable fashion could kick start you so well to get us all thinking again.

I can make no comment on the current Palestine situation, I just cannot get my head around the atrocity of all this at all.

Take care of yourself. xx
