You have snow - we have heatt. It's been hot all week and the temperature is supposed to peak at 41c / 104f tomorrow. Keep warm indeed Weaver - while I stay inside trying to keep cool whilst watching the Australian Open Tennis Take care Cathy
Blue skies and sunshine here in N. Kent and the severe gales now abating. Peak gusts were mid-60's mph but that was scary enough, wouldn't of wanted Rachel's wind speeds. Trees are down and roads blocked here on Sheppey and commuter traffic chaos.
Beautiful photo. I can see our snow-covered mountains from our dining room window; this morning the snow was painted pink by the sun. Greetings Maria x
It looks beautiful but close the door quickly and keep warm. No snow down here but a sharp edge to the wind which was quite noisy last night. This morning it is still cold but all is calm. What comes next we wonder.
I was kept awake much of the night by the sound of gales blowing through the trees near my house. So at 7 I was sleeping with my head under the duvet. Bright and sunny here now with no sign of any snow.
Snow is going slowly. PetPals managed to get through to take Tess for her Thursday walk - I was so grateful. I just dare not walk out in it. Now at 2.20 in the afternoon the sky has clouded over. It is four degrees so should keep thawing for a little while longer.
Yes, a beautiful photo. No snow here, just plenty of rain and gales. In fact, the storm was so bad in some parts that German Rail have stopped all long-distance trains in the afternoon.
Beautiful photo but sorry it is so cold. We are too warm in Tucson. we are in the 70's when we should be in the low 60's. We have had two storms come in and expecting another one on Saturday. I hope it brings the much needed rain and snow or we will have a summer filled with wildfires.
Thank you for the very kind comment you left on my blog Pat. I have often thought how nice it would be if we lived near enough each other to have a chat and a cuppa. Never mind - there is always Blogger.
We had lashing gales last night and when taking the dogs out in a break in the rain today, it was mud, mud and more mud. Your snowy image just looks beautiful to me, but I know how hard it can be getting out and about. Hoping for a thaw for you.
I am a widow for the second time - first marrriage 39 years, second marriage 23 years - both very happy. My second marriage was to a farmer and when he died the farm was sold. I now live in the nearby small town on the edge of Wensleydale in The Yorkshire Dales. My beloved Border Terrier died a couple of years ago - I still miss her but as I am 90 and need carers I shalln't get another I have one son,who lives nearby with his wife, three grandchildren, one step grandchild, two great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren..Life is good.

You have snow and we have gales. 82mph gusts recorded here at 5 this morning; I thought the roof was going to take off. Keep warm Weave.

Ooh,snow! We have sunshine and cold wind in Wiltshire.
Looks like you still live in the country.

Stay in, stay warm and read a good book.
Yes, outside mine, too.
Just looking at that photo makes me feel chilled to the bones!
A lovely day for cross country skiing.
Lovely photo. Some of my best are taken out of the back door so I can shut it quick!

Would not want to cycle in that!

cheers, parsnip and mandibles
A beautiful photo. A real winter scene. Not so good for getting around so I hope it thaws quickly.
Wow! Looks very chilly, but peaceful.

We had 7 inches of the beautiful white stuff yesterday - today I'm taking loads of photos from the windows - birds, gardens and more birds!!!!!
We'll stay in for a couple of days now - not much in the way of snow removal here in the south!
Stay warm and safe.

We had a sky like that this morning...been hidden behind clouds ever since
I think I am glad I am in Queensland and complaining about the heat!
GOOD GOD! Just light drizzle here.
Thanks everyone. The snow is slowly going today, a thaw has set in but it is treacherous underfoot.
