Massage

I had my first ever massage today.   To say it was soporific is an understatement - I went to sleep.

I think it is the first time I have truly relaxed in the last eight weeks and I am sure it did me immense good.   In fact I was so relaxed when I came out that I was apprehensive about driving the ten miles or so home - but so soon got going again once I got on the road.

When I got home the little boy next day, who is seven, had drawn me a picture and left it on the kitchen table for me to find.   It was a lovely surprise and it is now on the wall.
Simple things can give so much pleasure can't they?

As I put the car away in the garage I noticed how busy the swallows were, in and out of the space at the top of the barn door.   Yesterday was a wet day so there will at last be mud for them to put together their nests.   Flying all the way from Africa then building a nest and raising at least one brood, often two - what amazing birds they are.  What a wonderful thing Nature is - and how we notice it at this time of the year.

My Clematis Montana Rubens, which for years has just grown on an old tree trunk, has decided this year that it will meander along the washing line.  It looks splendid.

Glad you enjoyed your massage, I have never experienced one but would love it I'm sure.
The snails have made short work of one of my clematis this year and yet they have not touched the blue angel clematis, must not taste as good, lol

Glad your massage was so beneficial and what a sweet surprise that drawing must have been. My Montana is just going over now but has been like a floral quilt thrown over the garden wall. My husband always wanted to cut it back but I managed to dissuade him. Nothing as exciting as swallows here but plenty of little garden birds and teenage blackbirds everywhere.

It all sounds wonderful Pat. Now, I am the only person who still hasn't had a massage. Something tells me you are going to start having them more often. Nature always soothes me - makes me smile.

Massages can be wonderful! Massages were lifesavers for me back when my career had my shoulders and neck in knots. Now I am not as stressed, but still enjoy a massage now and again.

You're a wise lady finding "things that soothe"....massage, hair appts., flowers, restaurants, birds....

And now a young admirer came calling with a beautiful picture he drew for you.

You are truly loved, Pat, by many people.

You should hang on to the Liam Carson original. It could be worth thousands in years to come.

We have had Swallows coming into the sitting room, looking at the beams, then flying out again. They've been having a really good look. I tried to photograph them, but they're too fast.

Our Montana has been amazing this year too!

What a sweet little gift - just the thing to lift the spirits. Our swallows are also building nests and flitting about. We certainly don't have to wait for rain as it rarely is completely dry here.
My oldest daughter is a massage therapist - specializing in therapy massages and she agrees that a massage in time of stress is one of the best remedies around. And she wishes you her best.

Good massages are wonderful things and I have had many different types over the years, they are great for teasing out all your aches and pains and making you feel relaxed.
The long spell of several months with virtually no rain has finally ended here in Kent, it has rained heavily over the last couple of days, everywhere seems to be dripping wet and we have another long spell of it forecast for tonight and tomorrow.

What a wonderfully detailed picture. He must have spent a great deal of time on this creation. Kindness is such a lovely thing!

I am glad you were able to relax so totally with the massage, and then came home to find such a lovely gift on your kitchen table!
Massages can be tuned to either relax us or energise. To be honest, the energising ones never seem to really work on me - I simply relax and enjoy!
Good to know the swallows can finish their nests now.

I love that painting. I am wondering if the boy is a chid genius and the numbers in the sunlight contain the secret of the universe?

What a lovely painting. Children's drawings are so precious, aren't they? Very glad to hear you got benefit from the massage- I hope you make it a regular thing, they are great for keeping you in good condition on lots of levels. I have a monthly one with my sports therapist for the running- she's brilliant x

It's well-known that Swallows fly from Africa and back each year. It's less well-known that Painted Lady butterflies make the same journey, although they only make it in the one direction, arriving from Africa to breed here in favourable years. The theory is that their offspring make the return journey, but I don't think that has been verified. Red Admirals make a slightly shorter trip from around the Med.

So interesting to read Stuart's reply - isn't Nature wonderful?
