Last Resting Place

Yesterday afternoon in warm sunshine we buried the farmer's ashes at the bottom of the pasture by the beck (just behind the fence) and the wood.   All the bluebells were out in the wood, the blackbirds were singing and he was laid to rest on the fields he loved.   May he rest in peace.

A stick marks the spot if you want to see exactly where we put them.

  12. Just the perfect spot and what a lovely day to heft him with the land he loved so much. You couldn't have chosen a better place.

My best friend is beneath a beautiful oak tree in a quiet corner of the Woodland Burial Plots in the New Forest. She will be surrounded by Bluebells now too.

  31. Thank you for posting this image. It is good to see the place where the farmer rests, in land that knew and cherished and where he was truly at home. When my turn comes I hope to be buried with my parents only a few miles away in the next dale.
