Update

First of all can I just say how touched I am by all your messages on the Farmer's health.   You will never know just how much they mean to us and how they are helping us to get through it all.

To update - we have been to see the Specialist today.   The brain tumour is a Grade 4, the worst kind, and is inoperable.   The farmer is on high doses of steroids and goes next week to discuss having Radiotherapy.

He is in good heart and manages to feed the hens each morning, and the wild birds, and take Tess for three short walks each day.

He sends his thanks to you all too.

    I think quality is key here and just hope the doctor can discuss at length all the pros and cons. I have known a stage 4 glioblastoma patient that lived for 9 years so keep your chins up. I do hope there might be some experimental treatments available since the farmer is in such good health. Thank you for telling us and much love to you both.

    I think of you both so often and am glad that the farmer can get out and about a bit. It is so good to read Donna Baker's comment which sounds so positive and I hope for a similar outcome for the farmer. Every good wish to you both.

    Thank you for finding time to update us. It must be very painful for you both at present so I do appreciate it.
    Every day I have been looking to see if there's news but not really expecting you to have the time or energy to post. Take care of yourself. Have some breaks and try to see some of you coffee/lunch friends if possible.
    You need to be strong and healthy so that you can support the farmer through this.

    Oh no! I was hoping that his prognosis would be better than that. But it is good that he can still feed the wild birds and the chickens and take Tess out for walks and it is a blessing that he is at home where the heart is.

    I just checked in to see if there was a new post, and was so sad to read that the tumour is inoperable. I am glad that your husband is able to get out and walk your dog and feed the hens, such pleasant things to do. I started reading your blog within the last few months and have been enjoying it - I grew up on farms in Hertfordshire and Kent, and now live in Canada. I just wanted to say I'm thinking of you both and sending you good wishes. Wishing you many days of enjoying your life together.

    I'm so glad you were able to write an update Pat even though it's not the one I really wanted to hear. Be brave and strong, there are so many ways known today to provide treatments other than surgery. The Farmer is strong and I'm sure a fighter - his life on the land has made him that way, and I can tell you are a woman who doesn't allow the grass to grow under her feet. Stand beside him when you meet with the doctors, ask questions, and understand that you have to fight sometimes to get what you want. Both my husband and myself have faced and beaten cancer - I pray the Farmer will have more years to do the things he loves just as we do and are thankful for.

    Thoughts and prayers continue for you both. Many people love you, think highly of you and wish you well.
