Yesterday morning at 4am my neighbour had a baby boy. He was born at home and I went round to see him this morning - just 29 hours old, snug and warm on his Dad's knee, wrapped in a fluffy blanket fast asleep. His young brother played on the floor with his toys, the atmosphere was peaceful and joyful. Everything had gone well and everyone was happy. He was so beautiful.
And I contrasted it with the babies born in Gaza this week, quadruplets shown on television earlier in the week, born in a shelled hospital, their home destroyed, nowhere to go, no future unless things alter drastically. And I despaired.

It is sometimes just too much to understand. For now it is important to rejoice when we can - there are just too many reasons for despair.
I love your cow header!
They just seem determined to obliterate each other. I have no idea how it will end and in the meanwhile so many children killed. Thank goodness the little one near you is safe and sound.
I think I am spending a little too much time despairing lately. Sigh.
Let us care, but never despair!
The new baby preaches that wordlessly. God bless ALL in that region.

it doesn't make sense to me either :-(

Enjoy the good news of the baby, the sunshine and yourself with the farmer today.
I do love the cows on your header!
It is heartbreaking, isn't it? Being helpless to do anything to improve the situation is a horrid feeling. Enjoy that new baby in the hope that he or she will grow up to help make the world a better place.
I completely agree with Pondside's comment.
Thank you for reminding us of the joy that a new life can bring when surrounded by love.

I so agree with Pondside!!!
