Every picture tells a story....

These two pictures, taken on our estate during my morning walk this Tess early today, say more about the weather than all my words can say.  It looks just the same now - no change all day.  Winter has arrived.

  1. And it's snowing on us. Winter has arrived!

  2. Blue sky, a bitter wind, freezing cold and a sun to blind you.

  3. No snow down here yet - it is just very cold and damp. I wish winter would just get on with it and then we can have spring.

  4. My favorite things to draw are trees. Looks cold and bleak, but those branches are beautiful. Stay warm!

  5. We have had snow on the Brecon Beacons, and apparently surrounding villages above the local snowline, but so far so good in our valley. I hope you don't have much in the way of snow this winter (we could do without last year's Beast from the East, that's for sure!) Keep warm.

  6. But your grass is still green!!! It's quite brown here!

  7. Beautiful pictures! I love the trees. It does look cold as you say but I am amazed at the green grass. We have not seen any green for several months and have had nothing but snow for a couple of weeks. I hope you are able to stay warm in your lovely home.

  9. Gloomy today. Snow still lying on the beach, but none 3 miles inland.

  11. The grass is just beautiful. Does it stay green like that all winter? Perhaps it does as you mention having some flowers all winter also.

  12. It's been like that here today, though reading a couple of the above comments it's obviously been sunnier just down the road in Norfolk and Suffolk.

  14. I wouldn't say it was bitter cold here today - no wind at all so that makes it feel quite warm. There was no frost this morning either, but one promised for tomorrow.
    Thanks for your comments.

  15. We have not seen the sun in at least 7 days...snowing and blowing today. I hope your dreary days don't last this long....but with all the longing for sunshine, I still love that first shot.

  16. Well of course we have similar weather to you, and the snow has turned to rain, but the snowdrops are here and though it looks drear one can plan for spring. Ever the optimist!

  17. We had the most beautiful day of this year yet, with wall to wall sunshine and very little wind.We were out walking for about 4 hours and enjoyed every minute of it, after having been stuck in the office all week and grey skies on those short walks between home and work.

  18. In and amongst the grey days we have had a couple of bright sunny ones here.

  19. To those who have asked. The grass always stays green here all winter - even when it might be covered with snow for a couple of weeks.

  20. I wonder how many of your American readers understand what the English mean by "estate". I think the American equivalent would be "development" if it is newish, "neighborhood" if it's been around for several decades or more.
