Busy

Today has been a very hectic busy day dealing with various things to do with the estate.   I find it all so tiring although everyone is very helpful.

Doing things 'on line' is hard for me often.   What I can do I do easily and often.   But new things often take ages and then fail because I can't find my way round things.

My son and his wife have called and have brought me a Bounty Bar - an indulgence but one which I love, so I shall go and make myself a cup of tea and have it with my Bounty and watch Super Vet.

I think you should fill your cupboard with a whole stack of Bounty bars and indulge yourself often.

Sue's advice sounds good to me! Remember you don't have to do everything at once...Are there any younger people you could hire to tutor you in online things? Be well, dear WG.

How lovely. Enjoy your Bounty and your cup of tea. We will watch Master Chef in a little while. A lot of things I gave to the solicitor in the end when I could no longer cope on line with an estate and a farm sale. x

I treated myself to a Bounty Bar this week when I did my online grocery order. I too find all the legal stuff exhausting and am liable to tie myself in knots when the same solicitor is dealing with the sale of this house and the purchase of my flat. As long as I don't end up buying back my own house I shall be alright! Luckily one of my daughters worked for our Citizens Advice Bureau for several years and has been such a help to me.
Enjoy your Bounty - I had mine after supper this evening.

"Bounty" - a taste of paradise.

Lie back and imagine you're lying on a palm-fringed beach... at Ingoldmells perhaps!

The computer is still a pain for me.
It had messed up all my photos and it is frustrating to try and find anything. Before I read your post I though I want ti set up a class and learn how to use my computer and clean it up.
Especially my photos.

cheers, parsnip

I can't even get my new phone to work properly because all the instructions are in a complicated German technical language which likes to use verylongwordsintheorderwrong. At least to me. I enjoy a Bounty now and again. Yes, we can get them here. And even KitKats. I send to like Mars Bars but nowadays they get stuck in my gnashers, so I've given them up.

I swear the first year after my husband died is a blur. We are not thinking clearly and yet we are expected to take care of all sorts of legal and financial transactions...too soon, too soon.

Don't beat yourself up, you haven't lost your mind even though nothing seems normal now.

I know doing things online can often be so much more convenient than having to trundle round various offices with sheafs of paper, but I sometimes think the programmers make it unnecessarily difficult - just because they can.
I hope you have lots more Bounty bars to enjoy - you need rewards after tackling that online business.

Bounty has akways been my favourite treat! Imagine how pleased I was to find they make an ice cream bar version now, too. I have not had one yet this year but will certainly get a packet once they return to the supermarket in the summer.

It seems to be almost impossible to Not do things on line now. I wonder how some folk cope with out a computer,

Dark chocolate or milk? Enjoy whichever :-)

In dealing with my father-in-law's estate we were really impressed with the kindness of the staff handling policy payouts, bank accounts and the like. It wasn't a large estate to settle, but it was surprising how many policies and accounts there were, as well as the house. It all needed valuing, probate and the like.
We run a business, and I'm very aware of how much more complicated that would make things for us, as it will be doing for you. Slowly, carefully with Bounty Bars (not for me, I dislike coconut!!) at regular intervals. You will get there.

O.k. so there are certain rules to eating a Bounty Bar: You first have to eat off the chocolaty top, then the chocolate all around and only then the coconut part.

I have been working with a personal computer since the mid 80's and could navigate my way through many programs. Today, I get so frustrated when I have to navigate sites that I am not familiar with. Enjoy your tea and Bounty Bars and if you need help, call on someone who has familiarity with the sites you are using.

I'd be eating chocolate with every form I filled out.

Chocolate is always a good alternative to any frustration.

I acted as executor for my late mother, father, and mother-in-law. I know all about the complications and sleepless nights it involves. I wish you well Weave, and if I was you, I'd order an industrial box of Bountys.

Oooh, Bounty Bar! I haven't had one for years......I shall be looking for one today though. I also used to eat the chocolate on top first before the yummy coconut part. The dark chocolate ones were the best.
I am much like you regarding computer use, but I am getting braver at clicking on things when I don't know what they do. My granddaughter, aged 6, was showing me a book last night about programming.....I tried to explain to her that when I was her age there were no computers. I don't think she could grasp that concept!!

Use your solicitor as much as possible, it is after all what they are paid for. Online is a bit scary, write an email fine, but transfer money yikes....Eat as much chocolate as you need, but slow down after you have done all the work. X

Those 1960s adverts for Bounty were a hoot. Women in grass skirts on white sand beaches with palm trees gently waving in the tropical breeze... what could be further from a bar of chocolate?

Oh I'm really wanting a Bounty bar now! You do realise that the sales of Bounty bars will be going through the roof this week and it will be all down to you.
