Swaledale.

Since Christmas we have had very few sunny days, but on Wednesday friend W went over into Swaledale, the dale North of our Dale, and on the way she stopped and took these two beautiful pictures.

So today I have invited her to guest my blog and publish them:  I hope they give everyone a taste of the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales and the promise of more sunny days to come.

What a stunning view - I can almost smell the fresh air. Beautiful photo and thankyou Weaver's friend.

I have always wondered what it looks like there.
Thanks for sharing!
Here's hoping you have more sunny days.

We drove to Skipton yesterday, over the moor, it was glorious, rugged open space, and now your timely reminder of just how beautiful the area is. Feeling content

Thank you for sharing friend W - nice blue sky. Must be lovely to drive on roads with not another car in sight or does that change in the summer?

It is beautiful. I'll tell you a funny occurrence in the country as opposed to the city. In the country, since there are fewer cars I guess, passerby's always wave to you. You'd get a torn rotator cuff in the city if you waved at all the people in cars. Far more often, it is a hand sign in the city than a friendly wave. More stress perhaps?

Sometimes, over here where there is a lot of wide, open space we forget that England is a land of open space as well. Not a car to be seen in your friend's beautiful picture. I can imagine that I smell the cold, fresh air!

Beautiful countryside. I notice there aren't white lines along the edge of the road here.

It is a very beautiful part of the world you live in, and I'd love to see the second photo (I can see only one in your post but you mentioned two).

Sorry Librarian, I am having some trouble with my pictures and cant seem to retrieve that second photograph.
Yes Si, plenty of wide open space here.
Glad you all agree that we are so lucky to live among such beautiful countryside.

Wonderful! I bet the shadows and times of day add to the magic. I could park myself right there with camera and tripod!
