Latest update
The news is not good for the farmer today. It seems highly unlikely that they will be able to give him any radiotherapy as it seems the tumour may well be too far advanced. Luckily he does not seem to have altogether understood the situation. A farming friend has just called in to see him, so there will be a happy hour of farming talk. Thanks to you all for your comments - much appreciated/

He will therefore be able to carry on enjoying himself x
Oh, poor you and poor Farmer. I agree with Rachel above. Have a nice time, Weave.
Enjoy each other as much as you can. Prayers coming your way.
Grasp any happy hour that comes your way.
Yes, the best is to carry on and do what you both love to do together. Enjoy the moment; every minute of it. Stay positive Weave, it gives strength. A hug.
Greetings Maria xx
Oh, dear. What's one to do? I think that it helps to find some normalcy in the day. Talking about farming, feeding the chicken, pottering around the house and the garden, ... I hope that running your usual errands, and be it just grocery shopping, and meeting your friends allows you a little breathing space to let your thoughts wander away from worrying. We here on blogland admire you greatly.
I'm so very sorry. I hope he has many pleasant distractions. My thoughts are with you both. -Jenn
So very sorry to read this.

What can I say Pat, except to send you both love and good wishes. xx
Hugs and prayers xx
Our thoughts are with you both.
You are each other's rock, stay positive and snatch every moment. Sending our love your way.
So sorry, sending hugs and positive thoughts.
Oh shit. Sorry. xxx
Like many others, I am thinking of you, often.
As we age we sometimes spend the odd moment or two wondering just what the process will bring--we get our heads around gradual loss of hearing and restricted mobility. A diagnosis such as your farmer has received is a harsh blow--beyond the ordinary expectations.
I am sorry for what you--and he--must endure.
Oh Weave. Holding you both in my heart and prayers. X
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this.
Sorry to hear that news. Sending you hugs.
Your support group is all around you, and so is the Farmer's. Keep warm.
So very to read this news. Stay strong.
Oh Pat......I hold you both in my heart and thoughts.....deb
I am so sorry. Perhaps it is better for the Farmer to not have to go through the radiation therapy and suffer the effects. Pat, may your time with the Farmer, on this plane, be filled with much love and happy days.
Take care of yourself while you're taking care of him!
I was holding my breath, till you updated this.
Enjoy the time you have with him every moment.
I will light a candle for you both.

I am so sorry to hear that, Weave. But as others have said, it is a good thing if he does not fully understand all that is going on at present.
I send you both my love and very best wishes.
I can't begin to understand how difficult it must be for you to travel this path into the unknown. You both are in my thoughts.
My heart goes out to you... I am so very sorry. You both will remain in my thoughts and prayers.
Thinking of and praying for you both Pat.
Karen
It is almost best that it is this way Pat. A very good friend of mine endured a year of radiotherapy, which not only disrupted his life but made him feel twice as ill and it was all for nothing, the tumour still won. Enjoy every last minute with him as normally as you can.
Spring is coming and I hope you both have pleasant days and joys together. I agree that the radiotherapy might only have made him feel unwell without really helping. Wishing you both many blessings.
Prayers and thoughts with you both....the Farmer needs to continue with happy hours of farming talk with friends.
So sorry to hear this Weaver, I will be thinking of you.
Oh Pat, I am so sorry. I hope you find comfort in doing things together as he is able. You are held in love and prayer.
Keep going, a day at a time, and we'll keep hoping and praying for you
Prayers and thoughts for you both.
Sending you both love x
I hope you can enjoy the coming days of spring together on the farm .Will keep you both in our thoughts.
Cherish the everyday things during this precious time together, you have wonderful friends around you including those who have never met you. Good thoughts to you both as always.
I'm so sorry to hear this news. I think lots of farming folk visits should be arranged, even half an hour each day of talking about his favourite things with like minded friends will be a real tonic.
Thinking of you both. xx
Well the bad news is unremitting, be happy together in whatever time you have. The small gossipy things of farming and the daily round will help I am sure. Thinking of you both. xxx
Such a heart wrenching situation...prayers and thoughts with you both.
One day at a time...make each day something you will remember and cherish. Hoping the sun is shining on your heart
Wishing you both strength and support to endure this.

Thanks for the latest update. It can't be easy to write these things.
You are so brave to write and keep us up to date. Thank you.
Take great care of yourself especially if you are shouldering the burden of knowledge.
I'm glad the farmer is not understanding all the implications but it's hard on you.
Make time for coffees with your friends and accept help.
It will give you a break and help them.
Sue
Thank you for the update. Please take some time for yourself as I have a husband who is not well and it does take a toll on you whether you think so or not, do take some coffee with your friends when you can.. Get some assistance if you need to. Maybe it is a blessing that the farmer doesn't understand all of this. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and asking our Heavenly Father for a miracle for you and the farmer. God Bless you both

Take care of yourself, enjoy time with one another, have fun, do the things you enjoy. Sending positive thoughts your way from across the "pond."
Bette Davis once said "Old age ain't for sissies" - or words to that effect. Even though I am only in my mid-fifties, I'm beginning to understand how right she was. And I think all the time about my Dad who is 82, and though he is in great health, I wonder what kind of anxiety or worries he has about what the future will (inevitably) bring. This is terribly tough; take care of yourself as well as the farmer, and I wish you strength and fortitude.
So sorry to read this. Sending love and strength. X
Say everything you ever meant to say to him,now ... tell him every few minutes how much you love him and how happy you have been. You don't want to ever wish you had said something and let the moment go by. This is what I learned from my experience. I will think about you both every day .. C
I am here from John's Going Gently blog. Sending you and the farmer all my good wishes.
I am so sorry to hear this. You are both in my thoughts.

Just another blogger calling in to wish you both well. Who knows what the future may hold so try to enjoy every moment you can. May God hold you both in the palm of his hand.

I am here from John's Going Gently blog. Sending you and the farmer hugs and good wishes.
Dear Weaver, I am so saddened to hear your news. Friends have been receiving marvellous treatment at James Cook so the farmer is in good hands. This has been a hard winter with the loss of several friends in the Dales whom I've known since my youth. I'm pleased to think that you have a great network of support to help you both during this so difficult time.
I have so enjoyed your blog for several years, and I'm so sorry to hear that the Farmer isn't well. I'm sending cyber hugs and good wishes for you both.
First time visiting. John sent me and I've brought a strong hug with me. You and the Farmer will now be occupying my thoughts.
Another person from Going Gently - keeping you and your Farmer in my thoughts and prayers.
Yet another from Going Gently. Sending hugs and best wishes x
Search the web. There are alternative holistic approaches in such cases. Mainstream medicine is not always carved in stone. A lot of people may think it is a bunch of mumbo jumbo, but there are a lot instances of miraculous healing. Sending love and blessings.
Hello dear Weaver,
Tonight the stars were shining brightly and clearly above the evergreens in my back yard. I stood out on the deck, looked up and focused on one star. I wished with all my might that you and your farmer will have the strength to get through this ordeal. May all these warm wishes all around the world continue to be the comfort that is so sincerely wished for you.
From Ontario, Canada
