Thank you for the story behind it Pat. The large book I use at the organ has sidebars with wonderful information about the hymns, where they originated, how they are to be played, etc. Even now I think clergy have a hard time pleasing everyone, and I guess it was so in Samuel Crossman's day as well. Perhaps he enjoyed being a poet more than putting up with criticism from his flock! We can only hope...Hildredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05420791064923078834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-63379920359413402712011-03-02T08:46:49.060-08:002011-03-02T08:46:49.060-08:00Thankyou for finding these fascinating facts for u...Thankyou for finding these fascinating facts for us - it is a lovely story and but for you, I would never have known it.Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06826501916623305535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-5075387172989904592011-03-02T07:21:15.350-08:002011-03-02T07:21:15.350-08:00Yes it is. It was always on the radio on my drive back to school after lunch - sometimes my favorite part of the day :)jeanette from everton terracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02025486213973874174noreply@blogger.com
