Also, when I was talking to my mother- and sister-in-law in Ripon yesterday, they said it was beautiful sunny. Can't say the same about here; the sky has been a solid grey for days with only a little more light in the early afternoon before a little flurry of wet snow came down.<br /><br />Not seeing in the New Year would be nearly impossible here for me, even if I wanted to; all my neighbours, no matter what religion or nationality, throw noisy parties and/or have fireworks and firecrackers going off at midnight - no way I could sleep through or ignore that.<br /><br />Anyway, I hope 2018 will be easier for you than 2017.
