Hope the weather dries up enough for your grass verge to become easier to negotiate and that the work on the lane doesn't go on too long.Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06826501916623305535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-39761569287929841292016-02-03T01:24:35.687-08:002016-02-03T01:24:35.687-08:00When I was a child I used to love the smell of the...When I was a child I used to love the smell of the farms, especially when they were muck spreading. I was not complaining about the smell of the slurry - just reporting on it. I have lived in the country now for fifty of my years - with a gap in the middle for inner city teaching and in actual fact I quite like the slurry smell - I have to live with it every day as we have a herd of cows in our yard as I write. And when the slurry tank is full it has to be emptied, otherwise it overflows and the result is worse. But I would prefer it to be done when the wind is in a direction which does not blow the smell straight into my kitchen. Any other direction and it would disperse before it reached a house. But needs must. The Weaver of Grasshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13947971556343746883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-76010355238368721312016-02-03T00:22:46.805-08:002016-02-03T00:22:46.805-08:00Whether it is noise or smell, both are things we c...Whether it is noise or smell, both are things we can't really escape and which can really stress us.
But of course it's all part of living in the country, isn't it.
I hope that nobody who lives along your lane gets stuck in the mud with their cars until the road is clear again!Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-57357406691268036002016-02-02T23:39:27.650-08:002016-02-02T23:39:27.650-08:00Ah, the clean air of the countryside !Ah, the clean air of the countryside !Coppa's girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16459503600694841117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-33863278161925128042016-02-02T17:01:04.591-08:002016-02-02T17:01:04.591-08:00Tess must have been very happy.Tess must have been very happy.Joanne Noragonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16601010208310707750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-85553806677679075122016-02-02T14:48:40.837-08:002016-02-02T14:48:40.837-08:00Pooh!!Pooh!!Beverleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13890150929382264192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-52354141501719833562016-02-02T14:18:48.179-08:002016-02-02T14:18:48.179-08:00Oh No !

The smell was horrendous and local communities complained to hell until it got stopped. Seems that in modern day Britain, using proper, organic manures on farmland is now frowned on, but so also, are using chemical fertilizers.Derek Faulknerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05140363868104172311noreply@blogger.com
