Snow is very beautiful but it does make life difficult for many people. Robins are so pretty and sing a lovely song but can be little thugs can't they? Thankyou for your kind comment on my book. I painted the calico pages first, then drew some of the designs on paper which were then stitched onto a page with running stitch. Other designs were stamped directly onto the painted pages or embroidered on. I wrote the text directly onto the painted calico and stitched down the middle of each pair of pages to hold them firmly in place on a piece of craft vilene which was in turn stitched to the middle of the craft vilene cover. The book cover was treated with gesso and had bits of scrim and lace etc, embedded into it and other bits sewn on. Then I painted it and did blanket stitch all round the edges to hold the end papers in place. I hope this is clear and gives you an idea of what I did.Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06826501916623305535noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-64000228949646834142008-12-04T10:33:00.000-08:002008-12-04T10:33:00.000-08:00We have two regular robins at the moment, co-exist...We have two regular robins at the moment, co-existing well. Loved your poem and your writings about the sheep and the snow on the moor. I thought Fox Hunting had been banned in the UK. I recall a big news item about the law being passed. We have hunting here too but it's usually a hare or a drag hunt. I used to hunt years ago but only on the drag hunts. I'm going to do a special post just so you can see what a possum looks like. Stay very warm. We're roasting over here but rain today. We need it the pasture is very dry.

Take care
LizLizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05100812038496671783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-280582018791422638.post-68567068817613363442008-12-04T09:12:00.000-08:002008-12-04T09:12:00.000-08:00here its very cold and frosty, icy in some places,...here its very cold and frosty, icy in some places, though its warmed up since yesterday.
