I’m sorry to hear that. We were scammed in early January. Ours was a credit card scam. Somebody managed to put many charges for meals out on my husband’s credit card. It is a nasty feeling. It makes one feel vulnerable and a little less sure of ones place in the world. I do truly sympathize. What always makes me feel better is a good chat with my son, or exchanging a few words with my grand children. I hope you feel back to yourself soon. Jean, in Winnipeg.

It has happened to many of us and it certainly makes you feel vulnerable. Thanks for letting us know you are ok. Big hugs and good karma to you Pat. Look forward to your next post.

You are far from alone in this experience unfortunately.Curses on their houses! They wouldn't like it if anyone did it to them.

Don't feel badly Pat. This type of thing is happening everywhere. I do not know how these people sleep at night. They must have no conscious. Sad. Take care. I hope you will get back to blogging when you feel ready.

So frustrating, isn't it? It has happened to me too, and it is a nasty shock. I hope you will be able to recoup any losses.

Several years ago someone got hold of my social security number and filed a tax return in my name. It took a while to sort it all out and the experience definitely affected me. Now every year the IRS sends me my own identification number to use when I file. I understand how this rattled you, see you soon.

Hi there dear one. I work in Seattle as an Adult Protective Services Investigator. There is a tremendous surge in scams and it will continue due how sophisticated scams have become and the evolution of technology. I am beware and find myself regularly second guessing attempts. They play on anxiety and that makes one vulnerable. You have done what most won’t, you called it out. You are better for it and help us all because you spoke out. The worst thing I see is the shame people feel over being duped. It shouldn’t be, you did nothing wrong. It’s so easy to get taken these days and yet so discombobulating. Stay steady and keep telling truth, it’s the only way. On another note, I read your blog everyday because you inspire me to be strong no matter what life doles out. I really dig you.

I was afraid it would upset you. All was well. I recognized straightaway that it wasn't you. I gave them a sharp retort. It will be fine, and I am sorry that it has troubled you. We will be here when you feel like writing again.

There is far too much spam going around these days. It can be very upsetting. Rest and feel better.

I'm sorry to say that, these days, we should treat everything as a scam. I do hope yours didn't involve a loss of money.

Wretched people, we have all been 'had' at some stage by one or another wicked scam. I think most of us know how to react to them. Keep calm - chuckle.

It's horrible when that happens.

Awful, it happened to MrFF once, he was furious with himself but these horrible people just get smarter and smarter. In his case, and another I know of, all lost funds were returned so although you feel dreadful all will be well and you are not to blame. Take care xx

Ouch!! Feel badly about this happening to you. Missed your usual morning sharing and knew something had to be up. Thank goodness you caught onto it quickly. All will be well. Ta for writing as I was becoming concerned about your wellbeing.

Shame on those who would rather steal than work. May they be caught and promptly prosecuted (like Trump should be).

Hugs!

Bastards, no punishment is too good for them.
My sincere sympathy.

I empathize with your being upset about being scammed, I was scammed once a couple years ago and found it very upsetting plus stressful to fix the problem. You will come through this and be in good spirits again, that is the sense I get about you.

Oh, no! How very upsetting it is Pat. The scams seem to be everywhere and certainly have undermined my belief in the honesty of anything to do with the net. I hope your son has managed to put a stop to it and help you feel better. Sending calming thoughts your way. XX Virginia
