Waiting

I can't settle my mind to writing today.   It is cold,   One minute it is foggy and the next the sun  breaks through and for a minute I begin to warm up (I am sitting by the full on radiator) and I feel a bit more like writing - then fog descends and it is cold again.   I didn't sleep well.   I kept looking at the clock - the last time at half past five.   I thought i would have another hour and then the next thing I knew my carer was switching the light on - it was seven o'clock.

The other thing which made me sleep lightly I think was that today my dear Grandson, who works in China but is home on furlough, is coming to see me.   It is four years since I saw him (mainly I suppose because of Covid)  and I am so looking forward to seeing him.  At least I shall have something to write about then.   See you tomorrow.

You are probably going to sleep like a log tonight, after a not-so-good night and a day with such an exciting visit!
I hope your grandson did not have problems upon his arrival from China. Not sure what restrictions in relation to the pandemic are at the moment, but here on the news, we've been hearing a lot about China's high numbers of Covid cases and too full hospitals.

Fog can make it all feel colder than it is, I guess. All day today, I have been having cold feet in spite of wearing two pairs of socks and sitting next to the radiator while working from home.

It's difficult to find much enthusiasm on chill days like these; I manage to get moving one day only to become very lazy the next. At least we're getting a little more daylight now.

I haven't been following the news so closely, but it is wonderful that your grandson was able to travel from China. I hope that you have a wonderful visit. Librarian is right. You will probably sleep like a log tonight? Do you suppose it was excitement that woke you up in the night?

Sorry you were wakeful last night and hope you sleep well tonight. Perhaps have a nap before then if you need to.
How wonderful to have your grandson coming to visit!! Hope you get a photo of him to frame for your home. China is just too far away, isn't it?

Hugs!

Hope you sleep better tonight. I can imagine how excited you must feel to be seeing your grandson after 4 years. Your son and daughter-in-law must share your excitement. Lots of news to be exchanged.

A sleepless night makes for a tiring next day. You know you'll sleep well tonight. China is having so much trouble with Covid. I'm told, their vaccines are not working well. The air quality in China is problematic too. My neighbor's nephew (raised and educated in California) is a member of the Beijing orchestra and I hear a bit about life in China. Your grandson will have lots to say; he is brave to choose to live in China today. I'm curious as to why he chooses to live there.

How exciting to see your grandson after so long a time! I bet he has all sorts of interesting stories about life with Covid in China. I hope you sleep well tonight. Like you, I was awake at 5: 30 this morning and laid awake until I finally gave up and got out of bed.

What wonderful news to get a visit from your grandson. I saw my sister-in-law and niece on the weekend for the first time in 5 years. Such an unexpected surprise.

I like logging on to your blog in the morning. That huge photo at the top is like taking a walk in the country.
