Friends coming tomorrow four of us are going out to lunch - not far - only as far as Middlemoor, a couple of miles from home but with lovely food, so no effort on my part. Then my dear Carer is making me one of her splendid salads for tea and this will just be a case of adding things like mashed avocado, green olives with feta, cheeses, chorizo, pate and Danish Pastries; that won't take a lot of effort either.
I have just been out into the garden to do a bit of dead-heading where I can reach and to water my tubs. In spite of quite a lot of rain this week the tubs were desperate for a drink. Now at a quarter to nine in the evening it is already feeling Autumnal - breezy and needing a cardigan. How quickly Autumn has come round this year.
I am still feeling lacking in News but at least tomorrow I shall be able to tell you what we all had to eat. See you then.

I expect it will be very tasty and I shall be very envious.
Enjoy your lunch out tomorrow and the company of your friends. Still very muggy down here and I got quite wet this morning in drizzle. I suppose it's because it doesn't run off like rain.
Happy to hear you are enjoying yourself, and enjoying what sounds like a delicious repast. Hugs from the base of the mini-mountain in Maine.
Oh, you do eat well! Enjoy tomorrow's lunch and the lovely tea your carer has concocted. It's wonderful to have a good appetite.
You have a good lunch tomorrow!
Hope you enjoyed the company and the good food. Can't wait to hear about it!
Down here in Kent the Met office have pretty much cancelled out any sign of rain this side of September.
No chance of us saying "in spite of quite a lot of rain this week." Yesterday (Weds) it was unbroken sunshine, 29 degrees and with a hot wind.
You sure eat a lot up there. Enjoy the day. And relax when you get back.
Similar to Derek, there is no sign of rain here. We had 34C yesterday, and today will be the hottest day of this week at around 37C. I can still manage working from home, as my study is facing north and the coolest room of my flat, but it is getting harder to remain focused on work during the afternoon.
Enjoy your lunch - good food in the company of friends, always a highlight!
I am surprised that you will eat such a big " tea" after going out to lunch! One big meal a day is enough for me! Hope you have a lovely time with your friends.
Enjoy your lunch today. My husband and I went out for lunch yesterday and I ordered a deliciously boozey cocktail to go with it, (something I rarely do.) Good food, a nice setting and a little alcohol made for an especially fun afternoon.
By now you are probably back home, relaxing after an enjoyable day! Hope you had fun!
Good to see you posting, Pat; I get concerned when you miss a few days. I'm sure you enjoyed today's lunch with friends to chat to. Probably now enjoying a nice relaxing 'resting-your-eyes' sit down to think about it. I keep reading blogs and noticing all the 'dried-up gardens' posts, whereas I live in Cornwall and have had plenty /too much of rain! I'm in south-east Cornwall and all around there are holiodaymakers who have come down for their annual holidays and I can't help but feel sorry for them. Just a little bit sorry, because those holidaymakers are swarming into all the normally quiet, peaceful places where I like to escape to . . .
What a lovely day for you and I will enjoy hearing about it all!
Hugs!
Enjoy our restaurant meal with friends. Also, please send some Autumn cool weather my way.
It is 100 degrees F in the sun and very humid. Unbearable heat.
Yes Rachel- and Frances - You are quite right - although the lunch out didn't seem too heavy nobody wanted much at tea time.
Thanks everyone for showing an interest in my boring posts over the past few days.
