Busy

Is it just me or does everyone have days when they can be relatively busy all day and days when they are in no mood to do anything?   This week, in spite of the weather, I have felt 'in the mood' to do one major job which has eluded me for weeks almost every day.  The one which I thought would be the biggest chore I left until today and then, as I sat to have my coffee after lunch I thought I would do it and get it over with - it only took me a quarter of an hour.

All were what I would call 'office jobs' and jobs which some would call unnecessary but I have a determination that should I 'pop my clogs' I do want all my affairs to be in tip top order.  This does mean updating every year as hardly anything stays the same.   Insurance being the case in point.   The terrible fires over the past week or so - when so many houses have succumbed to flash fires- must have made almost everyone think of reviewing whether or not they are adequately insured.

I have watched some of Le Tour de France this week - my son is a fan and I have tried to watch the hour's resume at 7pm on 26 each night. I must say I am staggered by the stamina of the competitors and their sportsman-like behaviour.

I hardly dare say it but last week end it was  so unbearably hot that all I wanted to do was to sit in a darkened room - today, after a damp morning it is now a chilly afternoon and I have just put on a body warmer.   Enjoy the rest of your day bloggy friends.

I thought perhaps you had to clean the fridge.

I've not been very good at keeping my paid bills in order, nor various documents...contracts etc. And now some of them aren't on paper, but just through the internet. One of these days (when staying indoors is a good idea) I'll sort through them and toss the oldest ones.

I'm ready for a break from the heat too, but my getting things done energy better be aimed at some house cleaning - I'm noticing some dingy areas that need a good scrub. And cleaning the fridge wouldn't hurt.

My window sills are looking very grubby from the increase in traffic since our High Street was pedestrianised. That's top of my to-do list. On humid days I am utterly useless but luckily can make up for it when a lovely fresh breeze comes through the windows. Unfortunately the dust comes in too. My current motto is: 'Do what you can, as often as you can', and if that's not good enough, too bad.

Enjoy the cool! If you can, send some cool air my way. We are still baking hot with no relief in sight. Keeping everything in good order is always time well spent. An annual review is good practice. I'm not surprised to fine you a well organized person.

Life is much better if we can keep busy.

I have been fairly productive this week, despite the heat.

The Tour went through my area yesterday; I would have waved but I watched from indoors. It was hot but I mowed the whole 'estate'; nearly two hours work. I damaged my knee in doing so, and have been hobbling ever since. Finished the day with a lovely meal at a local restaurant.

Thanks everyone for your support. Hope the knee has improved this morning Cro.

Amazing how chilly it feels now that temperatures have returned to something like normal. I had to sort out my house insurance yesterday as the company I dealt with for the last three years has suddenly decided that a 50% increase is in order; so I changed companies and have got it back to the usual amount. You've got to watch 'em!
