My Grand daughter and her family who came down for the day last Saturday have rung up today to tell us that J, the Daddy, has gone down this morning with Covid. Our first worry of course is baby Hewie who is only seven months old and has just recovered from chicken pox, and then the rest of the little family and finally of course us down here. It is now a week since they went home and when they were here we kept everywhere well-ventilated, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.
I watched the Ladies' Singles Final from Wimbledon this afternoon. 1 set all so fairly evenly matched but the the girl from Khazakstan seemed to get her opponents measure in the final set and romped home. Now the Mens' Final tomorrow - 5 sets and my hero Nadal out of the final because of an abdominal injury.
I have to say a whole day sans Boris has been a blessed relief!
I hope you and all the family stay well. xx
Hope your granddaughter and her children all avoid Covid and her husband heals quickly. Hope you and your son and his wife stay healthy too.
It was an exciting match but clearly, the better player won in the end.
My recent experience makes me think that there is not too much to be worried about if they are otherwise generally healthy. The latest strains are not so severe as the first.
Sending well wishes to your family dealing with Covid. With good ventilation during the visit, hopefully Covid will go no further. Fingers crossed.
People behave here as if Covid never existed; I see that as dangerous, but I suppose I'm as guilty as all the others. It was too hot here to be outdoors so I watched the very end of the Women's Wheelchair final. The rules are slightly different, they allow two bounces of the ball and the second one can be outside the court. It makes an interesting game.
This latest Covid strain seems to attack the lungs. My partner caught it three weeks ago and spent much of the first week feeling exhausted and coughing almost non-stop. It was ten days before she tested negative and even now is still coughing badly.
Covid seems to have come round again with a vengeance but not as serious as the first couple of times. Hope the family do not go on to develop it and that you have stayed clear. Do take care. xx
I hope the rest of the family escape Covid and that "J" soon recovers. I haven't paid much attention to the tennis this year and I doubt that will change much this afternoon - Kyrgios and Djokovic don't seem to be the most genial of gentlemen; is there any way they can both lose?
Don't worry too much about the baby getting covid. My grandson almost certainly had it
at around 7 months, as his parents did, but he wasn't very ill at all! I hope that you will avoid it.
God bless you
I think you'd be feeling something by now if you had caught it, as it doesn't seem to take much time before symptoms are experienced. It does seem that, this time around, it can be unpleasant for a few days but most people are picking up quickly after that. Take care.
Hope no one else in the family gets it - certainly seems to be going round and round everywhere again
Hope you all stay well and your granddaughter‘s husband has a speedy recovery without infecting anyone.
Goodness, but Covid seems to be popping up everywhere. At least what's going around here seems to be far less virulent than the initial virus. Our best thoughts to you all.
