One thing a day.

I am trying hard to stick to only one major thing a day because sadly more than one and I seem to be good for nothing for the rest of the day.   Today's 'thing' was a Cut and Blow Dry and I have come home, had my lunch and dozed most of the afternoon.   But as most women will agree I feel so much better after my hair do.

It has been quite a pleasant day and now that it is early evening, as with the last few days, the clouds have cleared and the sky is beautifully blue.   Perfect silaging weather as any farmer (or farmer's wife) out there will tell you.   The field at the back of my bungalow is being silaged today and the grass smells delightful.   I feel sad for my farmer, no longer here to judge when to cut.   The town (only a small town of maybe three thousand inhabitants) is so very busy because every farmer is silaging and the road outside the hairdressers is a constant stream of tractors and silage trailers back and forth.

No other news really except to say that about a dozen of my alliums are out - lovely to see that some have come (there was more than this last year and I suspect mice. Also my tubs, only planted up on Tuesday, seem to have flourished already.   I love to see them fill in their space.   I have mixed up the plants in them rather than pot them the conventional way - so I am waiting eagerly to see how they develop!

See you all tomorrow.

What a lovely day you've had and I agree, sometimes, doing one major thing a day is enough.
I was going to write that I hoped the temperature was just right to have your windows open, but with the silage dust blowing around, I suppose even if the temperature is right, you need to keep the windows closed.
We're having a hot few days with temperatures between 30*C and 35*C. Our windows will be closed to keep the air conditioning inside!

Hugs!

Oh yes, a cut and blow dry is one of the best things in life!

It is a beautiful evening here as well, and yes, many of the fields here have been silaged today.
I'm glad you feel better for having your hair done. Xx

I have to say, I had a long over due haircut on Tuesday. After my shower, I was blowingdrying my hair, and I thought just the same as you did, that I felt so much better to have hair that I can actually do something with again.

Barbara - How different you are over there from the uK. Out of the most expensive houses in the cities hardly anyone has air conditioning - or really needs it in our climate. Now I am ancient I feel the cold and rarely even have my windows open more than a crack.

I had my "summer cut" (shorter than usual) last week and for a few days I hated it! Now it has grown in (or I have got used to it) and I quite like it. For the next week or so it will be at its best, then I will begin to hate it again and look forward to another cut! My hair grows really fast.

At this time of year plants develop very rapidly. It's pleasant to watch the progress.

I wish someone would cut my grass in France. Someone has recently sent me a photo and the grass is a metre high. Your gardener is obviously more efficient than mine.

I have gotten to where on days I go out anywhere I seldom get much done around the house. It is a wonderful feeling when you get your hair done, isn't it! It is almost time for me to get a cut and blow-dry too. You have much to look forward to in your lovely garden!

There you are glamorous and all set up for your friends to come calling, and summer is definitely on its way.

Now that my hair is so short, it needs cutting more often, and it was my turn on Tuesday after work. My hairdresser happens to be my neighbour and something of a friend, too, so we always have plenty to chat while she makes me pretty again.
O.K. has regular appointments every 4-5 weeks to keep his hair in good shape, and he feels much better afterwards - so it is not just the ladies who enjoy having their hair done :-)

I know exactly what you mean Weave. Cutting my hair exhausts me. I am serious.

Tom - would your second name be Samson by any chance?

Plants, lawns, hair - does it realy differ all that much - they all grow fast and we have to keep uo with them don;t we? Thanks for calling by,

I remember advising people how to plant their pots when i worked at the garden center forever ago.. Choose an upright plant , a low to medium growing one, and then one that drapes over the edge... Do you do that? I enjoy a pot planted all in one flower too.. Makes quite the statement.. I wish you could show us yours.....Hgus! deb

My hairdresser colours, washes and cuts my hair then sends me home with it wet because I don't like it blowdried - I like it to dry naturally which it does on the way home.
Its a real luxury to have it done at all these days.

Multi tasking is well over rated!!

There is a contractor half a mile from us on our road, a little outside our village and every day there have been ginormous tractors, trailers, cutting and turning machines charging down our small road...never mind the speed bumps!!
But it does look as if the rush has been worth it..it has just started raining and the last thing to go down this morning was a slurry trailer....

Anne I guess from your reply that you have gloriously curly hair that dries in such a way that it kooks good however it dries.
Jinxy If only I could find somebody with the time to show me how to transfer my photos with my new camera.

Thank you everyone.
