The Sky Spells Rain.

Sometimes I think it would be better not to look at or listen to the weather forecast.   Today - darkest blue in places - meaning heavy rain - is said to be drifting over from the West.  The sky keeps looking angry and the wind gets up a bit - then it dies down again and a smidgin of blue sky pokes through.

Twice I have thought of setting off with Priscilla, getting half way down the drive and then coming back.   Luckily I did once because my new microwave, promised for next Monday, came this morning.

I have been unwell for a couple of days - upset tummy basically - but I am almost better today, but maybe not quite up to walking round the block.

My old microwave, an old one when I inherited it, it now well past its best and has begun to go rusty inside  so this sparkling new Daewoo should smarten the kitchen up a bit.   And as my carer very kindly provides me with meals each day I need a reliable way to heat them up.

Any more news for you today?   Sorry but there really is nothing at all to report.   I will be back tomorrow with any snippets I manage to glean between now and then.

I really wish there were some way we could equalize our weather!! I live in central Florida where we have 10 - 11 months of "summer". May sound good until you know that the temps stay at 90+ and the humidity stays around 98% ALL THE TIME. Those conditions breed mosquitoes by the thousands. My niece lives in Washington sate and I have thought of moving there but they have 9 - 10 months of fog and gray skies!! A happy medium would be nice. I do enjoy your blog so much!!

We have had heavy showers off and on for most of the day. I woke with awful vertigo yesterday morning which mercifully wore off as the day progressed. It has left me very tired and listless so I am behind with exercising. Hopefully I will get out tomorrow.
I do hope you are feeling better by now and the weather will allow you your walk with Priscilla.

Be glad you're not in California, USA where we've come to pray daily for even little bit of rain. National forests on fire so with the tiny bit of rain we received yesterday, there's hope. Maybe we'll enjoy a normal winter.

We had strong winds the day before last with some rain yesterday and today we've had heavy rain most of today. The wind plays havoc with my balance, so may do the same to you. Don't take any chances Pat and stay safe at home.

Rain here too for most of this morning but brightened up around 2 pm so we managed to get out for a short walk and some Vitamin D.

Well, I am fairly West...and it doesn't seem to have drifted very far; it rained all afternoon!

Charlotte - so that's why we had a dry afternoon.
It is raining now after dark

Glad to see you back...yesterday I found myself wondering just how bad that clogged toilet was!

Hope your rocky tum has settled down! One of my least favorite ailments, and it DOES discourage getting too far from home.

Rain and clouds all day here too. The coolness is a constant reminder that Autumn is with us. I've ordered a new convection microwave too. The new microwave is back ordered and delivery is late October. Take care...and wishing you a speedy recovery.

I have a very old microwave, too. My brother in law's son's cast off.

re your title: Our skies spelt rain all day yesterday, but not a drop. I spent the day hacking-back a huge Wisteria on 'The Tower' that constantly threatens its roof tiles. It now looks very bare.

Sorry to hear you had tummy issues - heading out with Priscilla would not have been a good idea! We're into Spring here, which means WIND. It's definitely getting warmer, and I'm almost too hot sitting here in the sun, but the wind can be icy inspire of the deep blue sky. We do tend to moan about it, don't we. In the end... "We'll weather the weather whatever the weather, whether we like it or not".

It sounds like it has not been a good day for a walk. Getting caught out in the rain would not be good! I do hope you are feeling better tomorrow. Enjoy that new microwave!

Glad to hear that your tummy is feeling better. Perhaps you could invest in a decent " mac" and you wouldn't need to worry about the odd rain shower when you are out walking?

I think we all had that rain from the West. I was caught in the worst of it whilst waiting for a bus. I haven't been on A British bus for years but had no car.

I've been thinking about your blocked loo, and the possible poor slope towards the main sewer pipe (like ours). Do you have an eco/half-flush option on your loo? That could be the problem - we were told not to get one on changing our toilet, as it needs a full flush with such a poor gradient.

We didn't have the rain in the east until late last night after I went to bed. Now this morning it is blue sky and sunny again.

Our forecast has been for rain the last few days, we’ve had approximately 10 drops. We also had a weather warning for strong winds and thunderstorms, they didn’t appear either. I’m beginning to think the Italian weather forecast is like the traffic signs, just a suggestion. Hope you are back on form soon.

The rain has just about died out here in Lancashire after a solid night of torrential rain and thunder and lightening, it was very dramatic. So much for the email I received two days ago from United Utilities saying we needed to conserve water. Half an hour in the rain and we had half a bucketful so surely and hopefully the reservoirs are filling up slightly.

As odd as it may seem, I've been having an upset tummy too. It happens right about the time I go to bed. Ugh.... very bothersome. I hope both yours & mine go away soon. Rest up until then. ~Andrea xoxoxo

Lots of hints and tips here/ Shall not use the ecoflush on the toilet again for one thing - and I shall try to remember to take my good mac when it looks like rain. You all look after me and I am very grateful for your care. Thank you.
