Snowy Sunday

Further down the country they seem to have really caught it today.   Here further North it is bitterly cold, there is a strongish Easterly wind blowing and the odd fine snow falls, but nothing settling so far.   Things might be totally different in the morning of course.   And it is set to be like this until at least the middle of the week so best to hunker down and keep warm, which is what I am doing.

My Tesco order came this morning and it took me a long to unpack it, disinfect where necessary and put it all away.   But I could manage a good fortnight if we were snowed in so no worries there.

So what to report today?   Not a lot really. My Carer and an hour's chat with her as she bustled round tidying everywhere and giving me a helping hand;  a quick visit from Tesco's driver - they are always very efficient and chatty.   It took me ages to unpack and even longer to find the two books of stamps I had ordered (they were stapled to the back of my bill).   After lunch I had a lovely half hour call from J in Australia - it is so kind of her to ring (if you are reading this thank you Joannie) - ten o'clock at night there and hot - Summer there of course - and a nice chat with my old school friend.   Five or six of us, all the same age and in various stages of mobility.   Good to compare notes.

No walk out - far too cold.  A good read this afternoon and then this evening - Country File and the Antiques Road Show - now being made during Lockdown so no crowds, no audience and nothing like as good to watch.   Then I am watching The Great Pottery Throwdown competition.   Is anyone else watching it?   If so what do you think to it?

Bed time calls.   I am all locked up and the heating turned down to eighteen  so all I have to do is undress and get into bed - and it will be welcome tonight as I had a late night last night.   Sleep well dear blogging friends - see you - metaphorically speaking - tomorrow.

Hi Weaver, I am loving the Great Pottery Throwdown. Such a nice, talented group of potters. Thought last weeks Raku was fascinating with some beautiful pots created.
Plenty of snow here today in Suffolk. My two little dogs are quite perplexed in the garden up to their tummies in snow. I have scraped a path for them but they choose to ignore it!
Stay in and warm, regards Jan B.

No snow in my part of West Wales, but it is very cold. We're loving the Great Pottery Throwdown. They seem to be living together for the duration this year, and the friendship shows. Keep safe and warm!

Lots of snow here. Snow started at 11 AM and will continue through the night. There could be 24 inches in the morning. I've not seen the Great Pottery Throwdown and will look for it. February is predicted to be very snowy.

It was too cold here to go out today. And all this week.

How nice to have a phone visit with a friend that lives far away. I hope you stay warm and cozy despite all that cold weather. Take care!

My stocks are slowly diminishing. I shall have to remedy that quite soon.

Our weekend walks on Saturday and Sunday both ended in the rain, and O.K. had to face the 150 km drive home last night in pouring rain; not the nicest conditions for a long drive, but he made it well before curfew time.
It is snowing as we speak, 8:28 in the morning; most likely it will turn out to be the coldest week of the year. You do well keeping warm and not venturing out as long as you don't have to!

I caught one of the Great Pottery Throwdown and wish I'd seen it from the beginning really. Too tired to stay up beyond 9 p.m. last night to see the latest - perhaps it's on a repeat at sometime?

Hope you don't have too much snow but gosh, it IS bitter out there. No way could I live in a colder country than this. I don't do cold.

Definitely the weather to be warm and snug indoors with a good book and a cuppa.

Nearly a foot of snow here in Mid Suffolk - it's very unusual to see. I'm snowed in at the end of the lane!
Stay warm and cosy

I love the Great Pottery Throwdown. Those contestants have such skill, even those who come bottom of the class. I would have loved to try pottery but never had the opportunity.
It is very cold again here in the southwest, but I think the east has it far worse. There are signs of a tiny dusting of snow gathered in crevices this morning, but who knows what might be in the offing. Good to know you are well provisioned.
Definitely hibernation conditions.

Just the lightest of snow flurries here in Lancashire yesterday but nothing stuck. I have woken to a lovely bright blue sky and lots of sunshine, it's bitterly cold but was beautiful to be out in for a quick dog walk, especially knowing there was going be a nice hot cup of coffee and a lovely warm flat to look forward to at the end of the walk. I'm sat here tingling nicely as I type.

Stay safe and warm, and thank goodness for television eh :-)

Watched the Darrowby Fair episode on All Creatures....... last night and you came to mind!

So glad you are managing Pat, with deliveries and great care people I feel you are staying safe during this difficult time of year. No snow here but very chilly. Feeding the birds, and naughty squirrels, seems a non-stop but enjoyable job.

Some bulbs pushing up so signs of spring are happening - the days, weeks and months continue and life is only what one makes of it.

Hugs - Mary
