Tuesday evening

The sun - what there was of it today - has set;  the clouds - plenty of them - are clearing;  the rain - just a thin, miserable drizzle - has more or less stopped and night has fallen.  In other (shorter) words, it has not been a pleasabt day.   Luckily I put my coat on early this morning and walked up and down in front of my bungalow before the day got going.

I get tired surprisingly easily still and by the time I have had my little walk, made my mid-morning cup of tea and done a couple of The Times Mind Games I have to start thinking about lunch.   But at least I can now negotiate the step down into the garage so I can access the freezer for lunch (jacket potatoes with streaky bacon and cheese - very good.

The District Nurse came this morning and was very pleased indeed with the state of my Cellulitis in my legs.   I have finished my antibiotics today and (touch wood) they are clearing up nicely.

This will have to do for today because I have just woken up after falling asleep at the Computer.   See you tomorrow.

Good news of good progress.... slow & steady. I'm so happy for you! A morning stroll is in my routine also: get up, get dressed, feed the birds, take out my garbage and recycling. We have quite a bit of property so doing this exposes me to the outdoors for around 15 minutes or so. Enough for me to check out the temperature, clouds, etc. I enjoy it very much and I know you enjoy your morning stroll as well. Please continue with your good progress. ~Andrea xoxo

Wet day in Italy too, very wet. I find that bad weather saps my energy, plenty of things I could do inside but I have been knitting whilst watching old tv programmes most of the day. Pleased to read about your progress.

Gently, gently, Weaver. It is good weather for doing very little! You are doing very well.

It does a body good to hear that you are making such good progress with getting mobile again. Sorry you haven't had wall to wall sunshine, but 'tis Winter after all!

A great day! You are doing extremely well and I could not be happier for you. With each day, you continue to gain strength. You'll be in the garden this Spring just like the rest of us.

You are doing awesome Weave. I worked in Physical Therapy for 18 years and I have never seen such progress from a broken hip. You are truly an inspiration and I am so happy for you.

Your daily progress report is like a special Advent Calendar - so uplifting and positive! And of course your meals sound always so good. Now I want to make something with the few potatoes I have left over from the weekend.

Such good news that you can get to the freezer and get your own meals. You are doing so brilliantly..............and sleep is good too.

You are making such good progress and I am sure the little walk each day helps get rid of the cellulitis as well as strengthening your leg muscles. It took me ages to get over an operation and I think the shock to the system plus a general anaesthetic (how do you spell it?) is responsible. Keep up the good work and you are entitled to nod of any time you like with all you are coping with!

I fall asleep at the drop of a hat in the afternoon. I find it really annoying and do my best to resist. I know everyone is different but I think it's a tendency that perhaps starts in one's 60s? I saw a meme on Facebook that said: "How to fall asleep in a chair: 1. Be old. 2. Sit in a chair." I suspect the person who invented it was young. The cruelty of youth.

Little things like being able to manage the step into the garage to get to the freezer again show such improvement and make life seem more normal again don't they, brilliant news. As for falling asleep just go with it, it's your body's way of saying it needs time for healing, and it's hibernation season anyway ... so think like a bear :-)

A hiccup yesterday means a very quiet restful day today. Thanks for calling in.

Recovery can be such a hard time, I am glad it is coming along for you. Celebrate every step, and look for the next. My sauntering are short and slow, and won't change until early next year if things are on schedule, so you have both my sympathy and my encouragement. You go, girl. One more step each day, eh?

Well it is difficult not to overdo when rehabilitating. The temptation is to go ahead, since you feel fine, and do things that pull you up short the next day. Easy does it for awhile and then it will be full steam ahead.
