I'm back!!!

One broken hip and  three weeks in hospital later.   I had the operation in Darlington Memorial Hospital and then two weeks recuperation in The Friary Hospital in Richmond.   Wonderful care throughout.   I came home yesterday.

Thank you, you lovely people, for all the cards, letters, e mails and phone calls- and some lovely warm socks from New Zealand - I am truly touched by your kindness.  Hopefully I will be back within the next day or two.   Meanwhile - thanks and love true bloggy friends.

Hooray. I'm so relieved.
My 80yo mum broke her hip a couple of years ago. She healed and was able to get about quicker than I expected, though it took quite a while to get her fitness levels back up again. I', sure you know it already, but once you're able to, try to do as much walking as you can, even if just around the room or down the path.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hello, hello. Blogpal ♥ What a delight to be able to hear your good news following the not-so-god-news of your mis-hap..
Judging by the long list of your well wishers already leaving comments, blogland is not as devoid of bloggers as I've been thinking recently, so that has to be a Good Thing (with capital letters, as Pooh bear might say to Piglet)....:
Love and Covid free long armed hugs from me to you!

baby boomers are going to get abused and treated like garbage in the retirement homes. Maybe you boomers shouldn't have been so selfish and arrogant and greedy. Literally everyone hates baby boomers now. Enjoy those retirement homes, and good luck, boomers!

Oh no, oh no, oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm glad you're home and all is (almost) well again. Usually a broken hip is... well... the beginning of the end, as they say, for us older folks. I'm glad you showed 'em that's not the case in every situation. Good for you, kiddo. Keep mending!!

So happy you are back - was so worried about you - you are an incredible woman. Because of you I am now reading Douglas Kennedy's books and love them - best book is "Pursuit of Happiness" - you might want to read it while recovering - could not put it down - stayed up 'til the wee hours of the night (morning) reading it . I would send you a copy if that was possible. Praying that each day is better for you. My husband broke his hip in a terrible fall and his recovery was remarkable. Wish the same for you.
