At the moment, with our lack of pollution and our clear weather, the night skies are better than I have ever seen them. Venus, in the West, is so clear that it is as though someone up there is shining a very powerful light down here on us. Magic.
It was our Poetry afternoon - virtual today on Zoom. We all managed one poem each - there were some amusing ones today - one about removal men bringing a piano downstairs which I found very funny.
There is so much to look at, so much to enjoy, let's all take every minute and live it to the full. We none of us know what's round the corner so don't let's waste a precious moment. Take care.

Venus is incredibly bright at the moment isn't it. I always throw open the bedroom window before I go to bed to enjoy the quiet and the stars for a few minutes.
On a clear night the stars are readily visible here out in the countryside. I remember being amazed at the sight after having been brought up in London.
The starry skies are so beautiful right now! I have the first week of May off and am very much looking forward to spending it at O.K.'s, where we will hopefully have mild enough nights to sit on the balcony, watching the stars and enjoying our G&Ts.
Glad to hear you had the poetry with the group via Zoom. You have obviously got to grips with Zoom now. The weather is perfect for stargazing.
Yes, some pretty amazing night skies at the moment, an unexpected bonus of this sad situation.
I have enjoyed the daytime sky too. No jet trails!
At times like these I have some small regrets about living in town, but - like you say - let's appreciate what we've got.
Unfortunately we are wasting precious moments! - by being basically confined to our houses and not being able to visit our family or partners. As Librarian points out, Germany appears to have a better attitude to such things.
It's been so cold and windy that I've missed going out to look at the sky. I missed the full moon, too. It truly is different these days, quiet, as though in suspense waiting for something to happen.
I'm so glad you were able to enjoy your poetry group today. Here's a blog with some thought-provoking poetry http://firstknownwhenlost.blogspot.com/
You are an inspiration, thank you! Would love to hear more of your stories.♥
I saw a satellite going over the other night (a friend said it would go past at 9.58 and it did!) When it stops raining long enough, we have been know to have good unpolluted skies.
Good to hear you were able to have your Zoom poetry afternoon. I can second Ruth's poetry blog as I have followed it a while now - plus the paintings he uses are all amazing. I would have them all on my walls if I could (though there are 100s!)
Enjoying every day as we are achieving so much here and really enjoying the sunshine.
How nice that you are still having your poetry group using Zoom! Thank you for reminding us to enjoy each minute and each day. You are right, we never know what is around the corner and there are always blessings to be found in the here and now.
How lovely that you don't have to miss out on your poetry afternoons.
Sadly it is never really dark here with street lights on throughout the night and lights in the corridor outside my 'front' door which seep under it. I used to love looking up at the night sky and seeing all the stars. However, I am enjoying the lovely weather we are having at present, and even though there has been a chill breeze I've sat in the garden with a jacket on most days, soaking up the sun.
You end on a very positive note. that must be what an afernoon of good poetry does.
Sometimes i feel happy, others I feel despair
Thanks for the noodge, Weave. Sometimes we need it.
Pat you can actually block anonymous comments, there is some satisfaction in doing that ;)
I am so glad you have mastered Zoom, it brings the world to you.
Thanks everyone. Nearly time to go out and applaud the NHS - a vital few minutes on a Thursday night I am sure you will agree.
