Just as cold.

The hottest it has been here today is twenty degrees and there has been a stiff wind blowing for much of the day.   Now as night falls great black clouds are rolling in - so not much change up here then.   But, unlike Derek, I can at least say that the soil is in good condition for planting right now.   I did a bit in the garden before going out to lunch today - the trouble is that I dare not garden without my stick so what I can do is limited.

We had our usual lunch out - the four of us - (3 salmon and veggies and one prawn salad) followed by a pleasant sit and chat in the bar over a cup of tea.   Home again by four o'clock, just before Tess returned with H who had taken her yet again round The Himalayan Garden so she has come back ready for a good tea followed by a good sleep from the long walk.

Tomorrow morning is Book Group when my choice - 'Happiness' is being discussed.   It will be interesting to see what our group thought of it as I have had such mixed opinions from people who have read it.   And I shall come home with another book to order and read for next month.

Closer to 30 C here yesterday, it probably reached that mark in some places in town where the sun heats up the pavement.
It is very wise of you not to garden without your stick, you know what you can do and what has become too difficult or dangerous for you.

I loved Aminatta Forna's book "Hapiness" and so did our Book Club. A multi layered story which made for a lively discussion.

I thought of you yesterday and nearly left a comment to let you know that it rained here nearly all day. I thought it might cheer you a little! Lots of cloud today but sun every now and then.
Enjoy your reading group, I have just started to read 'Happiness' and find it quite unusual but am enjoying it.

The Himalayan gardens look interesting, though rhodendroms are not a favourite of mine.

A Himalayan garden would certainly require a stick - and maybe crampons and a rope! Weather a bit cooler down here this morning.

I shall be pleased when the weather feels like June.

It's cold because you sent your warm weather over here. It's going to heat up like furnace. We're expecting 33 C in the next couple of days. This will be more than double what we've had through May.

Thanks for the comments.
The Himalayan Gardens are indeed very steep and although landscaped extremely well they do rely heavily on Rhododendrons, not my favourite either Thelma.
Author of Happiness Devon is Aminatta Forna.
