Stupid

All day I have been without the internet.   My hub has been glowing the usual blue but my computer has kept telling me it couldn't find my server.   That is until five minutes ago - half past ten at night and one last look - when I discovered that I had switched the wrong switch off on the wall under my computer shelf.   The little green light wasn't flashing - I switched it on and hey presto - all in working order again.

Not an eventful day though so nothing particular to report.   Friend S took Tess for a lovely walk this afternoon.   I tatted about in the garden doing bits that needed doing.   I cooked myself a lunch - my latest resolution is to cook more lunches for myself - it is easy when you live alone to make do with something easy that doesn't take much effort.  So this week I have really tried to cook healthy meals.

I'll be back tomorrow now that the correct switch is on!

That isn't stupid Weave. I do that sort of thing all the time and get into conspiracy rages about non-existent people who are trying to thwart my every move. We all often press the wrong switches.

Why worry about cooking from scratch when you can buy really healthy meals from M& S.Save your energy for things you enjoy.

Easily done Weave.
When I'm just cooking for me I live on eggs, boiled, poached or scrambled.

It's the really easy solution, isn't it. They just take so long to reveal themselves!

Good thing it was the switch and not the computer - much easier to sort out

So easily done, but at least you fixed it yourself. I hope you are getting some of the lovely weather we are enjoying down here.
I have been trying to lose some weight for the past 18 months and have changed my eating habits as dieting never seems to work for me. I now live mostly on hotpots or casseroles and stir fries, all of which allow me to cut down on meat and enjoy lots of lovely vegs. You won't find any of my recipes in books and some of them are weird but tasty. It has worked too, as I have lost about two and a half stone - slowly but steadily. Happy cooking.

Oops, been there, done that 😄
Last night I ate alone as the older half was out competing in a fell race. Five minutes to put together a supper of spicy couscous with spinach, peas and tuna. He hates it so I look forward to making it when he is not here.
Looking forward to your next posts now that you are back online.

Well I think cooking for one can be difficult but making the effort is a good idea. The dietician told Paul yesterday that I had a good diet, which he will have to adopt. Vegetables and fruit are not the first thing on his list though. As for electricity, where would we be without it, though apparently it is rather rare if you have an electric car!

I was sad to see four people at a restaurant table next to me yesterday enjoy a delicious roast beef meal and leave the wonderful bowl of mixed vegetables completely untouched.

You are not alone or stupid with the computer! I am on my own on Saturday so either a boiled egg or a supermarket sandwich.

I feel better for reading your comments! I love veggies and fruit, it is the protein (apart from fish and cheese) that I don't look forward to. But have persevered all week.
