Wednesday

Our Poetry afternoon - how much we all enjoy it.  There were a couple missing today but one new member so just a nice little gathering.   We have such a variety of poetry - some serious, some funny, some centuries old, some modern.   We relax and get pleasure from a couple of hours spent in one another's company.   Tess walks with friend S at the same time, so she enjoys it too and we are both happy.

Now both of us are fed and watered, the central heating is turned up so we are warm (it is still cold up here in Yorkshire) and after writing this and looking to see what I can find on line in the way of garden centres that sell shrubs I shall go and look what is on television for my entertainment.   I know it is Master Chef - the final week - later in the evening and I have a couple of new books to read so I am happy.

See you tomorrow.

A bit like my day except I went to philosophy for two hours. It is cold here too.

Your poetry group always sounds so nice. I hope you and Tess enjoy your evening.

Your wonderful descriptions of the evening ahead always makes your little bungalow sound so cozy. Still raining here in California. Gets a tad depressing after awhile.

Glad you have had such a lovely day and sure the evening will follow suit. It is strangely warm here.

Heading to a garden centre near Brigg tomorrow to find some pots and shrubs for my patio, it will be my first visit to the town.

It sounds as if you had a very pleasant day and have good things to look forward to. Happy plant hunting.

I like your idea of a poetry group, it sounds very convivial and fun.

I'm glad you and Tess both had a nice day. I just received 6! books, all part of the same series, and they're in a pile ready for me to dig into. What a nice feeling! My mother is reading them too, so they'll be passed on as I finish each one. Do you watch "Call the Midwife?" I just got a note from Amazon Prime that season 8 is now available in its entirety, so I'm looking forward to watching that.

I like my poetry to rhyme do you ?Sounds like you had a nice day.. I'm sitting here with my leg up and an ice pack on my knee.. Its a knee that has given me trouble off and on thru the years.. And i'm afraid i have over done it with up and down the ladder painting.... So perhaps i will benefit from having it raised and an ice pack... we shall see... more painting tomorrow.. we shall get it done! Take care Pat and stay warm.. 70 degrees F here today but the nights are still cool.. Hugs! deb

Yes, cold mornings and evenings here in Ripon, too; we gladly turn on the electric fire in our cosy cottage and have steaming mugs of hot tea when we come back from our excursions.
I so like the idea of your poetry afternoons! We'll be going to a lunvhtime piano concert in Ripon Cathedral today.

I’m enjoying the MasterChef finalists this year; a nice lot especially Jilly who I want to win. I think the young policewoman will go tonight though.
