Sunday

Returning from lunch at our usual venue today I do what I always do - that is change my outer garments and set off for a walk with Tess.   I never feel like it but she needs it (she had quite a long one first thing this morning) and I know that afterwards I can settle down for an evening of reading and television.   There is a sharp bite to the air as I walk round the estate and a sharp wind blowing.   And it is set to get colder by the end of the week.   So we best get used to it.  Winter is on its way.

On my return I sit down and review my diary for the week.   My memory is not what it was so I always write everything on a big wall calendar and then at the beginning of each week (as a reminder) I write all that weeks events into my pocket diary.
This is a fairly busy one.   Tomorrow, apart from my cleaning lady, is a clear day, so a day for washing and ironing I think. (has to be done_).
Tuesday we always meet for coffee in the morning and I always go to the bank and do some food shopping and pay last week's paper bill(only a small one as my main paper is on subscription). At the same time I am buying a couple of packs of charity Christmas cards each week (I send over 100) - not that this makes the cost any less but it does mean I get a larger selection buying them this time of the year and if I feel like writing a few early then I can.  (haven't felt like it yet!).   After lunch the Home Serve plumber is coming to do a couple of repairs in my bathroom (very good insurance with Yorkshire Water and well worth th monthly fee).   Wednesday is Poetry so must begin to sort some out.

Next week end the Decorator is arriving to do my Sitting Room so that has to be cleared - all pictures, books and ornaments - by then.   So you will see I am not short of things to do.

Enjoy the rest of the week-end.

A lot to do. I am looking forward to a normal day tomorrow! Visitor will have gone and the art exhibition finishes today.

When I was in my 30's an elderly neighbour always use to pat the diary in his pocket and say that this was hi memory now. All these years later I now fully appreciate hi words.

You have a nicely busy week ahead, with plenty of time set aside for walking your dog, and reading and TV, which is the way I like it too. I too have a large paper calendar where I write down events, plus since my hubby died, I am keeping a daily journal. I bought lots of cute stickers to put in it, to make it attractive. Happy Sunday.

Today, here at Surrey at my partner's, the day was as good as it gets. Clear blue skies, still as a mill pond and lovely and warm as we walked the woods and heath.

It appears that my email account has been hacked. I’ve received several threatening and sick messages over the last day. As a result I have closed that account so it’s no longer operable. If the account has been hacked it’s likely that my contacts are known so be warned – do not open any emails purporting to come from me and beware of any other communications from unknown sources and do NOT open any attachments.
I’m sorry to be such a nuisance and I have no idea how the hack took place. I’ve taken all possible steps to prevent further problems.

Can you send your decorator over here when he's finished your sitting room?

Tess probably looks forward to her outing and it forces you to get out and do some walking, too. Funny you should say winter is coming. It has just begun to snow here. -Jenn

What colours did you decide on in the end?

You certainly have a busy week ahead. I find it amazing how quickly 'spare' days get filled in! I use a diary to keep me on the right track and make sure I don't miss appointments.
I hope my electrician gets in touch next week as my electric fire has gone on strike and is the only means of heat in my living room. I shall phone him in the morning and leave him a reminder. I need to know if it is repairable or if I need to replace it before the weather gets cold.

It's great to be organised like that. I rely on a diary for work - a paper one - and if I ever lost it, I think I'd fall apart at the seams! Outside of work, I have a horror of missing appointments - particularly medical ones - and they tend to go into my work diary too. Not the best system, really! Never mind.

Do you not have a calendar on your laptop? I write everything on mine, and the computer reminds me every morning of what I need to do. Much easier.

Like you, I need to keep track of my appointments by writing them down. I love my diary in the shape of a book, where I can not only put all upcoming events, places where I work (usually 3 different places every week, sometimes four or five), birthdays and so on, but also take note of things that have heppened, such as where we went on the weekend, when I've been to the gym, what the weather was like etc.
Cro points out the calendar on his computer. I have that, too, also on my phone, but I use that feature only for work-related things.

It was sunny and mild all week but has slightly cooled down over the weekend. Now I am sitting here with the heating on. Still no rain in sight, hopefully there will be some on Wednesday (according to the forecast).

Your week sounds really busy but in a good way. Don't forget to show us your newly decorated living room!

As others have commented your week sounds busy and productive.
I was thinking about Christmas cards this week.
Writing notes in those to people I don't see often takes a long time but it's lovely hearing from them.
If I send cards a bit earlier I get a response to my note rather than our communications passing in the post.
I don't envy you having your sitting room decorated with all the clearing that will take.
Your books will be the biggest challenge yet I suspect that like me you won't want to part with any of them.
I hope the sun shines for you.
Did you plant your irises?
