Busy.

Some days are very busy and today was one of those days.   I always go to the bank for money on a Tuesday morning.   If actual money does become obsolete I do hope I have popped my clogs before then as I would much rather pay cash for things than use one of my cards.

Then I always do my weekly shop for essential food - today I needed several weighty or cumbersome things like dog tinned food, toilet rolls - so I parked in the Market Square and wheeled my trolley from the supermarket over to my car and unloaded it all into the boot.

Then it was leave my car there and walk round to the decorating shop where I had to choose my paint for my sitting room - and pay for it and then leave it for my decorator to collect.   Then I walked over the road because it was our monthly Struggler's meeting, where we discuss topics of interest.   Usually this is a quiet, thoughtful meeting but today it was more animated which in itself was quite tiring.   Then friend W gave me a lift to where once a fortnight we have our lunch on a Tuesday.   Today it was Pork and Cider casserole, followed by Apple Charlotte and cream.

Arriving home I then had to unpack the boot of my car, take Tess for a walk and wipe the surfaces and cupboards and fridge before putting away today's food.   Now a sit down to read posts before getting together a bit of tea for myself while I watch Antiques Road Trip.  I find it such a relaxing programme and it is fun looking round good antique shops without having to resist the temptation to buy anything.

I just hope I can stay awake through the whole programme.   I missed most of last evening's because the decorator, who is set to decorate my sitting room at the end of next week, calling to discuss times, paint etc.

Tomorrow 'we girls' are meeting at 9.30am to go out together for breakfast.  Yum yum.

I hardly ever use cash these days, in fact there's £40 in my wallet that's been there for about two months! My mother was a great fan of all those antiques programmes and I got rather hooked too while caring for her. I also looked after a young man with autism whose favourite time of the week was Sunday evenings when he would sit motionless in front of the TV to watch Antiques Road Show and Songs Of Praise - come to think of it it was my favourite time too; the rest of the week he was quite a handful!

Just a thought, I wouldn't advertise you go to the bank and take out cash on a specific day.

I have gotten so I record all of my shows and watch at my leisure. Then I can pause if needed and can skip over commercials. I have a few recorded episodes right now of Antiques Roadshow which I think may be similar to what you watch.

Love to read about your busy days and the meals out. We record the shows we watch. Usually old crime/murders! No we are not looking for tips.

Penhill makes a very valid point Pat.

Breakfast out - that sounds nice though it is something I have never done.
I enjoy the Antiques Road Show too, as well as most of the other antiques themed shows. Hope you didn't miss any of today's programme by falling asleep.

I've not looked in for a while, and I have really enjoyed this 'busy day' post, Weaver! I especially like the sound of your meal! My guilty pleasure for afternoon viewing is Escape to the Country, and that's on just when I need a little rest. Very best wishes from Devon.

It sounds like the food and other items were quite a while in your car boot before you came home to unpack and store it. Don't you worry about it getting too warm in the car? But then again, you probably do not have the same summery warm weather right now as us (reaching 25 C during the day).

My Dad is still in hospital. There have been some mildly dramatic events which make it impossible right now to tell when and in what condition he will be released. We can not leave our Mum alone with it all, and so we have, sadly, cancelled our Yorkshire holiday which was to start next week.
We'll try again in the spring - maybe we'll finally catch the bluebells!

Will cash really go? I know all those pennies and 2p bits in my purse are useless. But there are still times when cash comes in handy, the banks are doing us a great disservice by closing down and taking the option out of our hands - the customer, especially when they hardly seem to hve control of their computer services.

Weave I feel nervous about writing a blog. The mechanics of it and will it be interesting enough. Any advice? Bev
