Another day, more hurdles, more jobs destined for today. I can cope providing I only do one or two jobs each day that carry me forward towards a moving date.
This morning it was take the dog for her walk and then go to Wensleydale Writers. When I came out it was to find that somebody had scraped the side of my car so I have just e mailed a local body shop to ask them to sort it out for me. It is only the smallest of scrapes but my car is almost new and I want it to stay that way.
Now I intend to wash a couple of pairs of curtains because it happens to be a nice, breezy day and they will be dry and back up in no time.
Two boxes to pack - I shall make a start on dinner plates today I think, then the dog for another walk and that will be it for the day.
There is an awful lot of grass down around me for silage. It was cut the day before yesterday expecting a fine day yesterday - and it rained heavily, so today it is drying off. But I fear that more rain is forecast for tomorrow -so will it be in in time?

My beloved Border Terrier died a couple of years ago - I still miss her but as I am 90 and need carers I shalln't get another I have one son,who lives nearby with his wife, three grandchildren, one step grandchild, two great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren..Life is good.

That's terrible when someone damages your car and just drives off. That happened to us few years ago and I remember how annoying it was.
It does happen so often here. I am parking my new truck as far away from other vehicles as possible. It is so far to walk, but at least no one damages it and I tell myself I am getting exercise. I've made an appointment with the dealership for tomorrow to find out the tech stuff. It syncs with my iPhone and does things I've no idea how to do. My kids won't take the time to help me. I am not happy about it as I do not like to learn tech things.
Let's compare Wednesdays. Nobody so far as I know has damage my car . . . but there are 10 hours remaining so the possibility still exists. This morning after my run (8am) and breakfast (9:30am) some visitors arrived (by appointment). Next thing was a couple of errands to do in the main street of our suburb followed by lunch in an Austrian wine tavern. Lunch was fried chicken with beetroot and potato salad with a glass or two of Grüner Veltliner (a peppery wine) and soda. That's it. So far so good. Our old car, a Renault Scenic, had its fair share of scratches and we were sad to let it go 2 years ago after 13 years of good service.
My car is not that new; seven years old. It is beautiful, red. I like it. In a parking garage this summer some stupid white car driver left a terrible scrape. I need to have the car touched up, soon. I don't understand such rudeness.
Crikey, how many times a year does silage get cut round your way, you must have amazingly quick growing grass. Round my way here on Sheppey, it's normally once a year and this year because of the endless drought, it's been none.
Do the curtains stay when you move or do they go with you?
These things happen, nothing but a nuisance in the grander scale of life, the way I know you are treating it too.
I had someone hit my rear end - the car was on my drive - they had pulled in to let another car through, we think, but didnt come to the door and tell me what had happened. Rather than lose no claims discount I paid out for the repair. Doesnt help does it when you are already stressed out. x
Derek - usually here we get three silage cuts - they have been exceptional this year although this lot looks a bit iffy as the forecast is bad for tomorrow when it would normally have been picked up.
Good news about my car. I usually have it washed at the car wash in the village on a Wednesday. When i went this afternoon the lovely chap who does it (middle Eastern)pointed out the scuff marks, fetched some sort of pad, rubbed the place hard and when I looked it had magically disappeared. Fantastic.

I have nothing to add except that we had several foreign car cleaners at Asda car park when in Essex, who did a magnificent job of cleaning cars.

I really like your new picture. You are very lucky to live around such greenery. I would never be home, always out hiking. I live in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio USA and I hold on to as much green as I can around my home. Very nice indeed.

You are right to ration the jobs that you do each day. Energy is a precious commodity. I do hope the weather doesn't ruin the silage and that the repair to your car will not be too expensive. Someone must have known they scraped it - rotten blighters not to leave their phone number.
