A New Toy

The farmer has bought himself a new toy and as I write he is out 'playing' with it.   Many of our fields suffer from drainage problems and although he has a digging unit which fits on the front of his tractor he finds getting up and down from the tractor is harder as he gets older.   So he has acquired a natty small digger which does the job very efficiently.   He has dug one hole and freed one drain this morning and went back to do the same with another damp spot this afternoon.   Hopefully soon that will be another lot of jobs he can tick on his long list.

Maybe he will let you have a play with it? It looks like fun.

I can't show that to my husband, he will be sure to want one as well!
Useful AND fun, what more could one want?

A handsome vehicle to keep a farmer fit as a fiddle, and his drains, too.

He'll enjoy his work even more with that. If he lets you have a go you could get a lot of shopping in the bucket, and it doesn't look as if it would take up too much parking space!

Ah, I bet all his mates were round to admire it too (that's what happens Next door). Very practical and I am sure he'll have hours of fun!

Such a wonderful looking machine, and useful too.

Anyone who owns one of those is never without work (if he wants extra work). We have to wait weeks, if not months, for someone to come round and dig ditches, move soil, etc.

Hello,

Gosh, this looks like a serious piece of equipment to us.

Its snazzy go faster stripes in orange and white will certainly get him noticed as he whizzes round the field clearing drains as he goes. But will he get carried away? Perhaps the farm can become an adventure playground for all the local boys and their toys?!

An excellent piece of equipment Pat and being a tracked vehicle means that unlike a wheeled tractor it doesn't compress the ground very much. There is now a new half wheeled tractor with a track at the back designed for the same reason less compression on the soil and like your husbands vehicle it too is very manoeuvrable.

I'm envious...

P used to have one he hired out. It was so abused by people he stopped the service and now only uses it himself. As Cro said there is plenty of work available.

It's great that equipment that looks like so much fun can also do lots of seriously needed work, too.

The design is very appealing!

So far he is delighted with it. Thanks for the encouragement.

Boys and their toys, though truth be told I've always wanted one of these for myself.
