A Technical Hitch.

Sorry not to have blogged for a couple of days but there has been a hitch with my computer and the engineer has just been to fix it.   I am contemplating getting a new lap top as this one is now five years old.   I talked to him about it and he advises Windows 7 as the new Windows 8 seems to have a lot of things people don't like about it, and - as he says - I would have to learn a completely new way of doing things.  Difficult to teach this old dog new tricks, I'm afraid.

Also I have not been well today and am, in fact, shortly visiting the Doctor.   So in the meantime I will just post my photographs of the sheep being treated for you to look at.   See you tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you are not well Pat. Take care and keep warm. Go for it with the new laptop - you get so much out of it, would be a shame for you to become frustrated due to technical issues.

What you can do is wipe the laptop and reinstall Windows. Easier than it sounds. I did it with this one. It only took a few clicks. Hey presto! "New" laptop!

You DO need to back up anything you want to keep, though.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Pat.

I'd try Dominic's suggestion first if you don't have much to back up first. Small backup drives are remarkably cheap nowdays.

Yep - try a reinstall. It's always worth a go. Just make sure you have copies of anything you want to keep.

Meanwhile GET WELL SOON!

I hope you are well Pat...just got back from the x-ray dept myself!!! I hate it when the computer starts fighting back...fortunately my son is an I.T. wizz so he comes along with his machines that tick and whirr and gets the thing sorted!! all the best with that .

Hope you will soon feel well again Pat. Computers can be so infuriating at times. If mine packs up I don't know that I'd be brave enough to cope with a new one.

Hope you will feel better by the morning Pat. There are some nasty bugs around this winter.

Life goes on with animals, whatever the weather. I imagine there must be a lot of foot rot this wet winter.

I've heard those same comments about Windows 8, Let me tell you Windows 7 was frustrating enough. My sons told me I should have just stayed with Windows XP. It has taken me a year to get used to Windows 7. If you get Windows 7, email me if you can't find something that was so handy before. I may be able to help. I'm not a techie, being the same generation as you, so we may think alike.

As an IT supplier, I'd say Windows 7 is still the way ahead for you at the moment. Windows 8 is still very early and is a complete change in interface.
