Hello again folks.

I was without internet access for several days - then we went on holiday - but here I am back from Northumberland, my internet is working again and soon (after a lot of washing and ironing) I shall be back to normal.

The weather was dry, cool and breezy while we were away. The hotel - The Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel in Embleton - was superb and very well placed for visiting Holy Island (Lindisfarne), Alnwick with its lovely castle and gardens, Bamburgh with its castle, the Chillingham Wild cattle, the Cheviot Hills and the lovely countryside.

But, as always, it is good to be back - and better weather is forecast for later this week. I, for one, can't wait.

The photograph above is just a taste of Northumberland. It is of the castle at Lindisfarne - well worth the climb up although it was a windy day and the climb down was a bit terrifying. I'll be back when I have got things sorted out and put away. In the meantime, its good to be back on the internet and connected to you all again. I had 104 e mails in my inbox - and I read them all before putting this blog on. Now I must away to get the farmer's lunch. Watch this space.

We did Northumberland a few years ago and it's a wonderful place. Very scenic and dramatic.

I'm looking forward to seeing more photos.

So glad you are back after a good holiday. I'm hoping you have some pictures of places you visited. In northeast Ohio it is beautiful, but will be a little too warm later on.

Welcome back, Pat. It's chilly here in South Africa but the sun is shining which makes it pleasant to sit outside. Looking forward to hearing more about your holiday. (We've just come back from an idyllic holiday ourselves)

So that's where you were. Nice to see you back - Northumberland is a place from the history books, for me.

I went to Northumberland a couple of years ago. It's a lovely wild romantic place. I went all over - the Farne Islands to the Cheviots - even went up The Dod.

I'm looking forward to your holiday snaps ;).

I like Craster and Low Newton By The Sea where there's a lovely little village green surrounded by a horseshoe of houses, and a fantastic little pub with its own micro brewery.... lovely beer!! The walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle to Low Newton is exquisite!!

Thank you for your kind comments - it is nice to be back. Unfortunately everything is working super slow on my computer so it is quite frustrating. Also, I am finding it difficult to get on to anyone else's blog - so sorry if I don't visit you.
