Weather

Does the weather have an effect on your behaviour?   It certainly does on mine.

The last few days have been appalling here in the Yorkshire Dales.   Thank goodness it waited until after
Saturday's wedding.   If you look at the weather map there seems to be a big swirl directly over us - I presume this to be an anti-cyclone (?)  but whatever it is called, believe me it is pretty awful and it certainly has an
effect on how I feel.

Today there are two sorts of weather - very, very dull or pouring with rain.   We had over an inch yesterday and I guess we have had getting on for that today already.

I have just phoned a friend in the Lake District and the sun is out there, with just occasional showers.   Day after day of this drab weather and I begin to feel drab too.   So I am just going to drive into town to post some letters and to look round for a piece of rare breed beef to cook for friends coming to eat with us on Saturday night.   I would prefer Highland beef, as the last piece we had was superb.   Last time I went to the rare breed butcher, the breed for the week was Dexter and that was nothing like as enjoyable.

Any activity is preferable to sitting here trying to get four of my wedding photographs to print on to the same page - and failing miserably.   Any activity which I do only rarely on the computer I have to approach as though I have never done it before - is this an old age thing?

Try pasting the photos into a Word document and see if that helps!

Sorry your weather is grim. We're hoping for better next week but the outlook is poor. I'm determined to have a good week though - even if I get drenched.

The weather is unbalanced here as well. Not really grim, but cold enough to wear two sweaters on top of each other. The central heating is also on.

yes the weather really does affect my mood and I think at the moment my health is in synch with these crazy swings that we're experiencing in just the same way that the seasons affect my moods - slave to the rhythm!
As for printing photos.... yes pasting into microsoft word should help - the problems you may be having are largely down to the piece of software you choose to print them from - there are some things that make such operations extremely simple, but as you so rightly put it.... if it's not something you do every day.... then it certainly ISN'T like riding a bike.... in fact when I returned to cycling a few years ago after a long absence, I DID find it quite hard!! Perhaps that's just me?

I certainly feel "under the weather" today, all my get up and go has got up and gone!

At least the plants will appreciate their soaking.

Take care x

I'm the same with computer tasks Pat and tell myself it's because I don't do them regularly.
I hate dark and dismal days too and one year planted lots of small shrubs with golden foliage to brighten the garden on drab days.
We have had quite a lot of rain recently and a heavy hail storm today. I daresay the Water Board will still tell us there is a drought! So much of our weather seems to be localised and today we have driven through heavy showers and bone dry areas in a journey of only a few miles.

No, it's not an anti-cyclone, it's a DEPRESSION which probably explains how we all feel!

We actually had sunshine! I think it is an anticyclone and by the look of it whatever we had 2 days ago is going to come back again. Possibly carrying a little less water.

Don't suppose that's helped!

Thanks for the comments. At least we all seem to be in the same boat, so to speak - just hope its not an ark!

Our weather is totally changeable at the moment, yesterday for example started off cold and overcast and ended up warm and sunny.
