Tess
So rarely do I get a good photograph of Tess. This one was taken by Rosemary of Miss Cellany when she paid me a visit last week and shows Tess in her favourite position at the moment - looking into the hen run in the hope of seeing the chicks. The raised foot means that she is not quite sure what to do next (according to mydog book).

Lovely picture of Tess. Are the chicks hiding?
Tess is so beautiful - my daughter's Jack Russell stands like that but is scared of chickens! It's a pity the chicks are camera shy, or maybe Goldie is shielding them from the paparazzi!
Wonderful photo of Tess.
I miss Samantha my Border Terrier, everyday. Wonderful dogs !
cheers, parsnip
weaver if i stand with one paw like that it usually means i want something i can't have!! steven
Beautiful - and Rory our Cairn says that the raised foot means 'I'm about to do something/go somewhere I'm not allowed.'
What a lovely photo, my daughters cairn does that oo, but usually when she is about to be wicked. My pugs are too old to even think about it, except perhaps where food is concerned.
What a cracker. We are missing our pup but not long till we see her now!

Tess looks like a lot of fun as well as cuddly. I see that dogs often has one paw raised as if deciding what to do next, but my cat does that too. I'm trying to get a photo of him doing it but I never have my camera handy. I smile every time I see your banner photo of cows at the fence.
A charming photo - certainly brings out the mischievous personality.
Super photograph. I am intrigued by that last sentence.
Yes, lovely shot, and the raised leg thing is so intriguing. Titus does it too, I'd say it's his 'There's something about here I'm just about to go and hunt, and I'm just pinpointing it at the moment'
The raised leg thing is so appealing; almost an air of expectation!
The chicks have all retreated in on the advice of the mother hen - keep out of the way of that pesky dog!
I am sure Tess would chase them if they were loose.
Thanks for the comments.
