"I will go to the ball," she said.

Well, the great day has arrived - the day of Willow's Annual Ball. I am all ready to set off and so excited about it.
I tried on several Zandra Rhodes dresses - no, not quite right; then I tried Vivien Westwood - no, a bit too flashy. So, after much deliberation I am going as my alter ego. I shall be wearing an LBD.
Of course, my a.e. has an eighteen inch waist and is tall and slender, so the LBD sets her figure off to perfection. Hair has been carefully swept up into a French Pleat and make-up is subtle but flattering. I considered asking Liz Taylor if I could borrow her diamonds but decided that they would be so enormous that everyone would only think it was my bling, so decided in the end to wear old rose gold necklace, earrings and belt. On my feet I have gold pumps. I am all ready to trip the light fantastic.
My partner? Well - I looked around but really these days I only fancy one man - so I am bringing the farmer. He looks wonderful in his dress suit and has had a very smart haircut. He is also wearing mens' perfume (when recently a saleslady at Gatwick airport duty-free asked him what kind of perfume he usually used - I thought for a moment he was going to passout!)
I borrowed one of Zsa zsa's fur stoles (faux of course) and we shall be arriving any time soon by chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce. And Derrick - if you are there in one of your bow ties - please save me a couple of dances. The farmer and I have been practising all week and he can just about manage the waltz and the quick-step (slowly) - so hope I can tango with you! See you all there.

The farmer was a joy to dance with Weaver! And so dashing and fragrant he was too. You looked so smashing. Wow about your 18" waist! As they say in the States "You guys sure clean up nice!" Well, don't we all? And don't we all have fertile imaginations, too! What fun. Now it's back to "normal" after a nice outing into cyber ball space!

The farmer and you were having a delightful time dancing the scottish reels Weaver. I hope you saw Chef Michael for a spot of tea before you left. I loved your outfit. The french pleated hair suits you and looks stunning with your ensemble. Tres chic!

My husband doesn't like dancing so could I borrow the farmer for one slow waltz please? It's about all I can manage these days and I would need a BBD! You look lovely and make a very handsome couple. Have a great evening.

Sorry about that Weaver - I missed you at the ball and then, to cap it all, I managed somehow to delete your comment on my latest post by mistake! Oh dear, it's not been my day. 'Blame it on the moonlight...'

It must have been some dance! I wish I could have seen your dress and jewelry!

I bet you two made a stunning entrance that stopped everyone mid-dance.

You both look wonderful, Weaver! I will try and make my way across the crowded dance floor and introduce Maureen to you. (But first a quick visit to the dessert table! Yummy!) I'm wearing several of Derrick's bow ties which he kindly lent to me - how do they look?

I hope you are not paying too high a price for your late night party going. However did you manage to make it back in time for milking?

I must say the pair of you looked amazing, I had no idea you could dance like that, "Strictly" better watch out!

So it is agreed then, we all had a splendid time at Willow's Ball. Today will be a bit of an anti climax - but if we live it up we must expect to fall back to earth with a bump!

Must just tell you about the farmer and perfume. As I said in the write up - he was asked at the perfume section of Duty Free (where I was searching for a new perfume to buy) what perfume he usually wore - the sales lady was trying to sell him some. His reply, when she asked him was, "Usually farmyard manure!!!"
She didn't sell him any perfume but I couldn't drag him away from her - they chatted for a quarter of an hour. What about? Don't ask me - but I don't suppose if was farmyard manure.
