This and that.

My "proper" post today will be on the dot of seven o'clock, when TFE (see my blog list) has invited me (and others) to post a poem. I do not have to start writing the poem until five minutes before I post it - so that it is entirely spontaneous. So I am religiously trying NOT to think of what I might write about in it.
So just two quite ordinary things for the blog today (sorry I missed posting yesterday but cooked a lunch for three of us and then walked and then didn't feel like posting). First of all - at the Wensleydale Show on Saturday a friend took a photograph of the farmer and me as we walked towards him. It is a nice relaxed shot and I thought you might like to see it.
Then to the Utility Room Floor. At last the beautiful stone tiles are down and they look lovely. The walls still have to be plastered but the floor at least is done and there is no more concrete dust paddling into the house. So thought you might also like to see the progression from soil to tiles.
It is typical Bank Holiday weather here today - as it was yesterdat - cool, showery and rather dull. The poor farmer has a lot of grass down which he is hoping to silage, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't rain today.

You have a real gift for giving us a little of the sense and flavour of your life. It is enthralling. Thank you.

Lovely natural photo of you both Weaver. Your floor looks far too splendid for a utility room! I like the after photo far better than the before and guess you do too. We have had wind, quite strong and chilly at times, but so far no rain this weekend, which is good as our daughter and son-in-law are taking part in an outdoor event. They'll be shattered tomorrow. See you at 7!!

Love the pattern and different shapes and sizes of your tiles.

So nice to see a pic of you and the farmer. He seems to be following you wherever you go!

Look forward to reading the spontaneous poem!!

Don't ever apologize for "not posting." Your lovely blog should not become a "have to... must do..." burden. My word verification is "imempent." This has amazing possibilities.

Hello Weaver,

Can imagine how glad you must be to get the floor finished - and it looks good. As do you and the farmer, of course! Will look forward to reading your poem in the morning. Hope you haven't had the rain again.

Thanks Amy.
Kim - how did I live through it - I often ask myself the same question!
Dave - thanks - my brain is still full of the questions you posed on your blog today!
Heather - the floor was chosed so that it did not show the farm yard dirt too much - time will tell.

Bonnie- he doesn't usually walk two steps behind me like he is doing in the photo - usually it is the other way round!
Elizabeth - hope you enjoyed the photo - it would remind you of what we both looked like.
steven - I can assure you that it will not stay that way for long.

Willow and Grizzled - glad you like the floor - and the photo!

LL and Derrick - thanks for the comments - and yes Derrick it is raining again as I type - and all our grass is down ready for gathering up - but then, that's farming for you.

Great photo of you and your husband! The tiles are also beautiful! What a difference a floor makes.
Thanks for your visit! No, I am afraid I don't know the books you mentioned, but I am sure I will like them. I shall look for it.

I drove through your area about 12 ? years ago, Beautiful ! Sadly I lost my picture of the Wensleydale road sign .

Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories this morning !

Dave's comments summed it up - you do have a gift for giving a sense and flavour of your life. I laughed when I saw the photo because I thought this can't be another photo of Weaver because you look so different in each photo. Would we know a fellow blogger if we passed them in the street (of course we would need to be in the same country to begin with)- it is funny this blog world.

Oh another photo of you and the farmer, lovely to see you both. Was it a good show? I laughed at Kim saying how did you live through that? We've lived like that since last November - and worse! I love your floor, it's superb. Jim is about to set about tiling our bathroom floor. It's rained here again today but brightened up at tea time.

Home improvement projects are best appreciated when they're finished! The new floor looks great and will likely be a trouble-free and easily cleaned surface - the best kind!
