The Friendship Pack.

We all love our dogs and we know that really they are pack animals and they see us as part of their pack (if we have trained them correctly then they see us as the pack leader). But sometimes dogs have to have doggie pals as well - and here today (thanks to Glennis for the photographs) is Tess's Friendship Pack. Millie, Gem and Tess are to be seen out walking and rabbitting together in the fields. Millie, who has short legs, stays close to her Pack Leader (human) but Gem and Tess go off at speed after anything on four legs that moves. Luckily Gem is fully trained and comes when called. Tess is learning fast and usually comes when called - if not she soon follows Gem. If there is such a thing as doggie love then I know that Tess loves these two to bits. Have a nice evening - it is very Autumnal here. Tess has just had to have a bath as she has been rolling in the builders' concrete. At present she is charging round the house trying to get her hair dry.

What sweet gang! Rosie, our Cairn, would love to go after rabbits too, but is much better with mice and rats.

I love the notion of a dog having her mates round for the day!

How much fun can a dog have - fresh air, fine company and just a whiff of rabbit!

hi weaver, i think that dogs reflect their owners in terms of their personalities and playful dogs are usually accompanied by people with good healthy happy spirits!! have a lovely evening. steven

Our dog often rolls in stuff, unfortuately it's usually something far more smelly than concrete!

You mean her owner doesn't supply a hair dryer as part of the deal?!

What a lovely doggie post Weaver. I am sure dogs have friends and I know they have enemies. The labrador we had years back was bitterly resented by a neighbour's dog when we moved in, and eventually they came to 'blows', although ours was slow to be roused. Ever after that, we only had to say 'Is that Robbie'? and our dog's hackles would rise and he'd start barking.

Gorgeous dogs! Especially the lovely Tess, of course! Looking very pretty in this photo.

Isn't it funny how dogs dry their hair, ours does the same and I often wonder if he saw his mum do it or did he work it out for himself?

It's such a wonderful thing to see dogs playing together. Our dog, who was a bitch, could only play with he-dogs, for she couldn't stand other she-dogs, with whom she behaved very bitchy.

Thanks for the comments. Border Terriers are certainly popular aren't they? Time is short today so one answer for everyone - as usual your visits are much appreciated.

Isn't it fun to watch doggie best friends! I could watch Edward and Apple play together all day! And Tess and her pals are adorable!
