That's a great photo Weaver. I have a photo of the Gardyne Castle my childrens nana took when she was over visiting the UK. I'll have to find it and post it up. I love the history you've written about the castle as well - just fantastic. Hope you are keeping warm!!! I was just looking at the sheep as well. I'm used to seeing Rams in the paddocks with the ewes - but given the differences in our winter weather (we don't get snow here in this part of New Zealand) it's no wonder the sheep have to kept indoors.

The sheep don't come in madbush - only the rams - although the sheep are lambed indoors. Our climate is so damp that keeping them inside would probably lead to pneumonia. Rams are brought in to doctor their feet and feed them up for their big day!

I have come to you via the Following widget, just to confirm that it is working well. The image is great and the post on Wensleydale likewise. I had no idea friend Pendragon travelled so far north! (Big gaps in my education!)

Lovely to see this photo. Brings back great memories. We were on a cycling holiday in the area, based at Kirkby Stephen YHA, and We stopped in amazement when we saw Pendragon Castle. It's in a beautiful part of the world.
