Another day

Well a nice full week-end - a change after months of Covid induced solitude and I have really enjoyed it.  Friend D came this afternoon and spent the afternoon here.   She brought two individual apple pies with her so I went without a pud and we enjoyed them over a cup of tea while putting the world to rights.   She didn't go until half past five and as I always watch Country File and Antiques Road Show that meant that I just had time to do my walk round the block before the News and an evening's viewing.   One long phone call since and it is really time for bed so just a short post this evening.   It has been a fine day again here although the patio was damp when I drew back the blinds this morning - but nothing to speak of.  To sum the weather up - sunny in parts, quite a breeze blowing and when the sun went in chilly.   See you all tomorrow.

Isn't it lovely to be able to share a cup of tea with friends and family?

I am just up, after a night of non-stop lightning, some rain, and blustery wind. Not good for sleeping.

Here in Kent today (Monday) we have another day of dark grey skies, a cold and strong Northerly wind and the prospect of another day of mostly rain. It feels like we have been transported back to March.
I guess that there are people that like this kind of weather in mid-summer but I'm not one of them, bring back hot and sunny.

You have just reminded me of those individual apple pies I used to buy as a kid (can't remember the make). They were horribly sweet and seemed to have a shelf-life of years, but I liked them then.

Thanks all. Another chilly, windyand cloudy day but not a sign of rain which is much needed. I'll be back later when I have a bit more to say.

We have a cold day in store for tomorrow, and then it looks like another week of thunderstorms. Such peculiar, unsettled weather. Your weekend sounds like just what you needed.

Be careful what you wish for Pat, we wanted some rain by Weds last week, it has barely stopped
raining since.

That sounds like the perfect Sunday afternoon and evening.

This morning it is grey and quite cool here, but I wouldn't mind a day of rain to water in all my new plants and the apple tree at the new house. I brought a expandable hose with me from Wales when we moved but I accidentally brought the short one and it doesn't reach where the plants are ... trust me!!

Sounds perfect. Like the rest of the owners of the flats in which I live, we miss our monthly coffee mornings, although it is nice that my daughter and her husband can come in for a chat now. Anyone bringing apple pies would be admitted!
Quite chilly down here, especially after the recent heat.
