?

The weather is abysmal - very strong wind, pouring with rain as I write, cold and cheerless.   Very few people have passed my window today - just one or two stalwarts with dogs (and the dogs look more reluctant than the owners on the whole).   Nothing at all going on and so far I have not spoken to anyone at all.   The Ladygram in the Lady Magazine and the Cryptic crossword in The Times have kept me going and I did cook myself a salmon and cod fish pie with mixed Mediterranean vegetables followed by Strawberries and Cream for my lunch.

I didn't put a Post on yesterday because it too was a 'nothing day' - luckily I did have a pleasant afternoon sitting chatting to H, my neighbour, over a cup of tea.    Nice to be able to just go into a house for a cup of tea - keeping social distance of course.   The social distancing seems to have worked on the whole in pubs and restaurants but outside in the street afterwards it all seems to have broken down.   It will be so sad if it all breaks down again after so long in lockdown.

My hair is for the chop and style on Thursday.  I am not altogether happy about having it done but really I look so shaggy that something has to be done before I become identifiable as The Wild Woman of Leyburn.

What a funny year it has been so far.   We were saying yesterday - most of us (women I am meaning here) buy maybe a couple of new oufits in Spring to see us through to Autumn - even if it is only jeans and a T shirt.    But this year my two outfits (2prs jeans, a twin set and a cotton sweater) have yet to be worn - I have been nowhere to wear them and really I can see them still hanging in my wardrobe unworn when Winter sets in.   And then it will be the time (it comes round every year) when I have to fight hard to resist the temptation to buy myself another leather jacket.

Keep warm and don't be afraid to switch the blanket on for half an hour at bedtime if it is as chilly with you as it is here.

Well as I said in my E-Mail Pat, it's very warm and sunny here, parched ground and a relentless gusty wind bending the trees over. Very warm indoors as well.

It's turned very chilly here so I've turned the central heating on. We experienced ten minutes of heavy hail earlier. You wouldn't think it was July, although the way this year is going, nothing would really surprise me anymore.
I quite like the idea of you as the Wild Woman of Leyburn :)

You buy leather jackets? Studs and badges? Please post up photos - or maybe not if they are going to destroy my mental image.

I think you should buy a purple leather jacket right now. Off the tinternet. Cheer you up no end and then do a selfie and show us all. I might get one as well.

Yesterday you talked about face-to-face contact Pat. It is so important for our mental well-being. But there are other difficulties with this 'virtual reality' we've been living with. My husband has been lecturing and tutoring over the internet, and it just doesn't work as well. Even with a reasonably small number in a tutorial, reading the body language isn't possible in the same way. So is the student sitting back because they haven't done their reading, so want to disengage, or are they floundering and need careful help to unscramble the difficulty. My group of friends had Zoom-coffee almost every day, but getting back to the cafe was a great joy.

I'm sorry your weather is bad, at least we have the excuse that "it is winter, after all", so we have to expect wet and cold. A "Leckie blankie" sounds good!

No rain on the Essex coast but the wind is crazy gusting so strongly at times. My poor plants. If you really want a leather jacket go for it.

You cannot have too many leather jackets. A purple one sounds good.

What is it about jackets? I love them and must not buy another one - I have five. It is not exactly chilly here but I was pleased to put on a cardigan this afternoon. The wind is still very strong. I am hoping to visit my daughter and son-in-law on Tuesday by which time the weather is supposed to have improved. We shall see.
At least the rotten weather is keeping idiots off beaches and out of parks.

I just wanted to let you know how much I look forward to your daily blog posts. They are always interesting and uplifting! It has been very hot and humid here (Ontario Canada) and we have had to keep water the garden on a regular basis.
It has been a wonderful year for the garden, my flowers are just gorgeous this year.
I think you should treat yourself to that leather jacket!

I wish I could send you some heat from here as we have been in the 90s F everyday. Another leather jacket might be nice! What color would you get this time? Sleep well tonight!

All over the world, Weave. The weather here is too damn hot to go into.

Oh, Weave, I'm a little envious I'll admit. We are in the midst of our summer heat, very dry conditions with HIGH fire risk. It's really scary to hear helicopters with water buckets in the sky while Borat bombers dump fire retardant. We had two fires today - a structure fire, and a vegetation fire. I couldn't wait for the 4th of July festivities to be over. Crazy people with fireworks isn't a good combination. Igniting Chinese lanterns is unbelievable stupidity.

Even if you think they're boring, I enjoy you posts. Checking daily for your post provides the normalcy I crave. Thank you.

On the subject of new clothes, I usually buy a few pairs of shorts and some canvas shoes in Spring; this year no shorts, and only one pair of shoes. No wonder the shopkeepers are in financial trouble.

Your remark about "the Wild Woman of Leyburn" made me chuckle - you are such a neat person! By the way, my next hairdresser's appointment is also this Thursday.
Like you, I have new clothes in my wardrobe that I bought just before it all started, and have not yet worn. Maybe I will find an occasion, as there are a few birthdays coming up before summer is over, but so far, nothing in terms of celebrations has been planned.
It was very hot here yesterday, but it has rained early this morning which makes the air pleasantly cool and fresh again.

I love the way you have such wonderful meals - my mum resorts to cream crackers a lot of the time as she has no motivation to cook and I do worry so. I feel for you stuck in the house in this miserable weather - the virus is bad enough imposing limitations on our lives but when the weather was good it felt we could cope better and go out for a daily walk.
This spell of damp weather must clear up soon.Take carex

We seem to have got stuck with a period of horrid weather. Rick is most unhappy and very reluctant to go outside. I just wish this wind would stop. I rather like the label The Wild Woman of Leyburn!

No Tom I shall not post photographs - I have no wish to destroy your image - I am sure it is an improvement on the eighty odd real me. But I just can't resist leather jackets - I have one in mid blue and another in 'mulberry' Don't know what colour the next one will be depends on what's in the sale at half price.

Thanks everyone.

I have been living in the same two pairs of old jeans and blue and white stripey t-shirts for the whole of lockdown. I only stopped wearing the worst of the jeans when I almost purposefully got paint on them the week before last so that even I wouldn't want to wear them.

I told myself that I would discard the t-shirts and jeans as 'lockdown uniform no longer needed'... and then I arrived at the Van to find that I had two more identical blue and white stripey t-shirts that had never been worn. So now I am in my same style but new 'lockdown uniform'.

Thanks to Doctor Razor for the Great miraculous work he did in my life with his herbal remedy. I too have been living with this virus and I have shared with my partners my situation because they deserve to have a choice of whether they want to change being with me or not. I unfortunately did not have a choice in this matter leaving me vulnerable and now faced with this virus for the rest of my life or until a cure was discovered.I refused to take the Medical drugs my PCD have told me to take, I surrendered to my fate, because I was careless. Late on at night, Feb 13 2017, I came across Doctor Razor herbal medicine. I browsed about the authenticity of This Doctor, I got to see several Testimonies regarding his works from people he had helped with his medicine. i reached out to him and told him my problems, after we spoke he promised to help me out. I started using his herbal medicine which he sent to me Via the Courier Delivery, and asked me to take the herbal medicine for 18 days. which i did. I am delighted to let you all know that I Got cured of Herpes Virus, after the Medical Doctor had confirmed this with the test results, when I went for a medical check up after completing the Herbal Dosage Of 18 days.
