February 1st

Village Church coffee morning (always the first Saturday in the month) - lots there and I never heard the word 'Brexit' mentioned.   Lots of mentions of snowdrops, aconites, weather in general, lambs anyone?, but nothing further afield.
Just as it should be here in our quiet little Yorkshire Dales Village.   One of the reasons I like living here.

It hasn't been a pleasant day here today.   Yesterday the temperature was 11 degrees and the sun shone.   Today it is 7 degrees and mostly rainy.
Still, even that is not bad for the first day of February and, according to something I read in the paper, we have already gained an hour  and twenty minutes extra of daylight.

Every day a few more flowers appear and the snowdrops in my garden are well out now.   I do hope we don't have a nasty rude awakening like last year when The Beast from the East descended and we had a heavy fall of snow.   The older I get the more I dread the cold weather and the more I long for some Spring - don't know about you.

Well folks, Brexit has passed - well stage one at any rate.   I wonder how long it will be before we notice any difference at all.   Or  will life - for us out in the sticks at any rate - go on just as it did before?

Our little family group are having a celebration of sorts this evening (although we actually voted to remain but we live in a Democracy and the other side won the vote) and are sitting down to a take-away Indian meal.   Don't ask me what we are eating.   I am not all that familiar with Indian food so have left it to my son to choose what I eat (as long as it is not too hot).

After a very bad night's sleep the night before last I had a brilliant sleep last night and didn't wake until eight o'clock this morning-feel much better for it.   See you tomorrow.

I saw my first butterflies of the year today. They were alongside a stream in Nussdorf where Beethoven used to walk. And also saw two bees. We haven't had any winter yet. Well, maybe three or four days all told.

If you’re not keen on anything too hot and/or spicy I recommend a balti chicken and a plain naan. It comes in the most delicious sauce. xx

A dull day here, and I seem to have come down with a cold.
Lots of sneezing and other unpleasantness.
Enjoy your Indian meal. It should warm you up!

I am also ready for some Spring. I have noticed the lengthening day. Usually going dark by now but still bright.

Enjoy your family celebrations. I have chosen to have lamb tonight and it is now in the oven. Very windy here, as in Suffolk, but lots of sunshine and blue sky, and still very daylight at 4.30 pm.

I started the new month off with a walk, and a lovely chat and cuppa with my smallholding friend, and then blew the dust off the slow cooker to make a beef stew for tea tomorrow, plus I have a cake baking (for my son - it's a housewarming present for him as I'm helping him move tomorrow).

I love the lengthening days, and the spring flowers starting to show.

Enjoy your curry - you have made me want to make one for the freezer now.

The weather is fairly good here today in the Midlands. In fact my husband managed to cut the grass at the front and it looks so much tidier. I’ve pottered in the kitchen, made Stilton and broccoli soup, baked an upside down blood orange bundt cake and started some stitching after admiring the garden.
Enjoy your curry. You are like me, not too hot please!

As I read somewhere today - we woke up and the sky hadn't fallen in! I, too, am very glad that we live in a democracy. Indian food, yes please.

I love your attitude of acceptance and celebration even though you voted to remain. It is the acknowledgement of the democracy and the vote of the majority that help people to move forward. Enjoy your meal with your family tonight.

Like JayCee I have come down with rotten cold. I would really like to get out to see some snowdrops but the weather here continues to be miserable.

You live in a beautiful part of the world, when holidaying in the UK one time a few years ago I drove from Scarborough and Whitby past the sales on my way to Scotland. Such beauty.

There is nothing like a good night's sleep to lift the spirits. No one has mentioned Brexit down here either, except to notice that everything seems to be going on as normal.
Enjoy your Indian meal. I don't like anything too spicy but a good authentic curry is usually very good.

No the sky hasn't fallen in here in Wharfedale either and I think most people are just glad things are finally moving on. In fact lots of snowdrops are in flower and I've seen the first daffs in flower, spring is coming.

Many of the tete a tete daffodils I planted do not seem to have come up. I fear some little beastie may well have got at them.

HAIL LUCIUFER HOW ILLUMINATI BROTHERHOOD MADE ME RICH. Hello! I want to share this testimony with you. "I have been living a life of poverty for the past many years. Then, to feed my family was a serious challenge. I almost lost my senses due to much thinking. I have searched everywhere, do all manners of work but non could give me the a different things on the net about “Illuminati''. At first i was scared thinking that they will tell me to bring human being for sacrifice. But i still went on to apply but could not join. But one day I traveled to a nearby city to see a friend for financial assistance to start a business. He was actually the one that told me to come and see him. I spent few days with him. We had several discussions and I used those opportunities to explained more of my predicament to him and he promised to help me. From there, I knew very well that my life has already changed for the better. The next day when he arrived from the office, He explained to me secretes of his wealth. There he told me about the ILLUMINATI BROTHERHOOD. I was not afraid because I have already made up my mind. But he also made me to understand everything that there is no human sacrifice and I agreed to join the society. He helped me to obtain my membership form. Then after the membership form was fully processed, I was invited to Paris Saint, France. district where my initiation ceremony took place and I was given $730,000 US dollars and a car also worth thousands of dollars to fit the members of the club. It was a surprise to me because I have never received such money before. After the initiation, seven days later, I was also invited for the main awarding ceremony and I was also given another $900,000 US dollars . Today, I have a good business that is moving fine. My husband and my kids are living fine and I am so happy today". If you are
