Friday

It has been another lovely day weather-wise with a clear blue sky - although a sharp breeze - and a bright sun all day.   J, my dog-walker, has taken Tess again and on her return pronounced her'like a two year old again'.   So it does look as though the anti-inflammatories are working.   And the Vet agrees that hydrotherapy may be a good thing for her arthritis so I am going to give it a month's trial - too expensive if it isn't doing any good.

I had a nice leisurely getting up this morning as our usual cafe is closed this week for a smartening up for Spring (this happens each year) when the coach parties begin to arrive.   Friend W came at half past ten to help me with something on the computer and then have coffee and for twelve o'clock we met M at our usual lunch place.   Today I had sausage and mash with tiny onions and onion jus and a glass of house rose.   Large sausages (and delicious) means that I have no appetite for tea at all, so it is now get Tess's tea and then settle down for the Antiques Programme on TV.

When I returned from lunch I felt quite energetic so gathered together a bag of glass bottles, a bag of old newspapers and about six cardboard boxes and took them up to the Tip.   My garage looks neat and tidy again and I feel good as a result.   A short (and painful for me) walk with Tess and that is me done for the day.  Until tomorrow...

If you have a recycling bin, can’’t you put those items in it?

A good clear out and tidy up always makes me feel satisfied.

I love a good clear out. Brilliant sun all day in Sheffield too although sharp and cold. Bulbs starting to peep through. Paying bills, writing thank you cards and watching Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant in Notorious on my favourite channel, Talking Pictures, Freeview 81. ( I’m not paid to advertise it, I promise! )

Sunny here too, but too busy to enjoy it. The only good bit was having to drive to Brecon and back to get the Earthborn clay paint I had run out of (don't ask!) and that took a chunk out of my working day so it was working twice as fast after that.

Glad that Tess has improved on the tablets and hoping that the Hydrotherapy will help her too.

Your lunch sounded lovely.

Perhaps some of Tess's anti-inflamatories and you will be sprinting along too! It is cold here - I went to the physio with my knee -there is some hope!! We have got a huge amount of recycling to take to the relevant places. I have been saving plastic bottle tops and now find I am not sure where I stored the address to send thenm to on my computer!

A nice day, especially with Antiques Roadshow.

Dc - yes I can in answer to your question, but because I take The Times daily and buy various other papers and magazines I always have too much for the fortnightly collection. In addition I get various large boxes (flowers for example) and I am just not strong enough to flatten them for collection. Now and again a drive to the tip (only a mile away) just tidies the garage up really well.

Bangers and mash - it's been too long since I've last had that!
Not having a car (and never having learned to drive) means I have way too many cardboard boxes in my cellar; if I want to put them in our recycling bin, I will have to be careful and never put more than two or three in at the same time, as there are three other flats in this house sharing the bin.
It's been beautiful and spring-like here on Thursday and part of Friday, but now the sky is grey and cooler temperatures mean I have turned the heating up again.

It turned into the perfect winter's day here. I was treated to lunch out by my son and his wife, and youngest daughter and her husband. We have an excellent farm shop which now had a restaurant/cafe which serves excellent simple meals. The 'boys' had the all day breakfast, but I had the best omelette I have ever tasted, served with a delicious side salad. We sat watching birds in the trees and saw a nuthatch, and in the distance three deer wandered along a hedgerow.
So pleased Tess has improved and hope your walking will too.
I do my recycling once a week. We have an area where bins are allotted to paper and card, plastic and tins, glass, and general waste.
