Wednesday

And so the week rolls on.   It is no sooner Monday than Friday begins to loom large.   If I have something on my calendar for each day then I can be assured that the week will speed past.

Today an old friend called in for coffee and shortbread this morning and we had a good old chat - it is a long time since we met up.   Then this afternoon friend S called and took Tess for a walk - and Tess always loves that.    It has been a lovely day here today - quite warm out of the sharp wind.

It is comforting to finding that other people have days when they feel 'not of this world' - I have not experienced the feeling before and I have found it very disconcerting.   It is beginning to go away now, as is my tinnitus (which comes and goes).   I suppose the whole thing is really called 'growing old'.

Glad you are feeling better. I enjoy reading your blog and hearing about your life in Yorkshire.

Shortbread, how wonderful. My favourite. I often feel not quite here so you are not alone in that experience. I also suffer from Tinnitus, it seems to be quite a common affliction amongst those of us who have hearing loss. Mine is often like distant running water or sometimes an engine running constantly somewhere in the background. I have got up in the middle of the night to check that there is nothing happening outside because of the sound.

I certainly get odd, "out of this world days" - I normally say that I feel spaced out. Been a windy day here but looking forward to the next several days which are forecast to be humid and up to 25 degrees.

Each to his own. Humidity does not help my breathing Derek Faulkner! I too have days when I am not there.

Tinnitus ia a rather cruel side effect of being deaf. Always more noticeable in a quiet environment.

I get a lot of problems with my ears, and it can often lead to feeling spaced out. Battling on just makes it worse as I get more and more dizzy, so I just accept that I'll be useless for a few days until it dies down. Always have plenty of light reading and light TV recorded ready for such times, and never feel guilty that you aren't able to do things sometimes.

Several years ago I had spells when I thought I would pass out but thankfully I never did. They tended to come when I stopped moving such as during a walk when I would stop to chat with a neighbor. They thought I had vertigo and I could not get them to understand. Never found a cause despite all kinds of tests. They did find my B12 was low and I began taking the B12 vitamin and rarely have them. You have plenty of get up and go left. The change of seasons is hard .

I know what you mean Pat. I have felt out of sorts several times lately and finally pinned it down to very humid days - they can make me feel almost ill. As we get older I think we wonder if it is the start of something more serious. I just take it easy for a couple of days until things settle down.
My weeks fly by. One week will be full of things to do, or to be done, and the next will be lovely and quiet when I can recharge my batteries.
Whatever you are doing today, enjoy yourself.

So glad you're feeling better.
I only discovered how out of touch I was when my technological nightmare started. My son said,"but you used to teach technology." Well, that was a lot of years ago and the world has changed!
