Another lovely day

Another lovely day today - perhaps a little more breeze but again unbroken sunshine, so more woollies washed and dried ready to be put away for the Summer.  They are still flapping on the clothes line in the sun - they should smell nice and sweet when they are packed away in the drawer.

Most Wednesdays friend S takes Tess for a walk and Tess gets so excited when she hears S coming - it is a pleasure to see them together.   Sometimes S takes  Tess to Thornton Steward Reservoir for a walk round the lake.   Today T came too and they invited me to go along and brought me a chair so that I could sit by the lake and read while they did the hour's walk.   We had a lovely afternoon - finished off by calling at a lovely tea shop for a coffee and a piece of cake - a perfect day - so thank-you S and T both from me and from Tess.

A local school were boating on the lake - it was interesting watching the boys sailing up and down on what was really a perfect day for such an activity.   There were also one or two men fishing and plenty of sheep with their lambs.   One lamb lost its mother and came up to me searching and making quite a noise until Mum came running up to claim it - I think she thought I might be after it for a bit of roast lamb.

A coup.le of photographs here that I took from my chair.I hope Tess isn't doing a poo in the photograph of her with S and T - if so she is too far away for us to see anyway

Less of an easterly breeze here today making it the warmest day of the week

What a lovely post Pat, the photos really brought it to life.
Still an easterly breeze here on Sheppey but only really chilly early this morning. Cloudless and very warm this afternoon.

That looks lovely, I wish I was with you. Today was the wettest coldest day in ages here in Italy, max 5 degrees, it’s mid May for goodness sake.

Lovely photos and sounds like a very enjoyable day. We had warm sunshine here too but I was indoors most of the day, volunteering at the Hospice. It is still good to sit here now and look out at the sunny evening, supping a cool glass of something bubbly.

A lovely day for you. We too have the breeze but the sun is still there too.

What a wonderful day! I enjoyed your photos. Isn't it nice to just sit out and enjoy nature in nice weather.

I sat in our communal garden and read a book this afternoon. It was perfect - not too hot, the birds were all singing, and I could smell the scent of wallflowers on the breeze. What a beautiful spot you had for reading today and how sweet the lambs look.

Lovely photos. And add to that the fact that sun has just greeted me the first time in nearly a week! The only cloud on the horizon was the commentator on the cycle race I'm watching (Italian Giro) just mentioned 'fracking' and tour of Yorkshire in the same breath. When I checked I saw pictures of protestors. Surely the lovely county of Yorkshire is not going in for fracking! I surely hope not.

It is in the Yorkshire Wolds area Gwil - they have been protesting for weeks and I believe had a little bit of success - but still very muchon the cards.

The protests have been on the radio quite a lot (I love listening to BBC Radio York while ironing), but I have not heard anything about it in a while now.
A very lovely day, Pat, and I am glad you were there, too. Funny how the sheep seem to prefer the tarmac to the green grass!
